9 Picks only 4 Canadians
3 of top 4 however.
I guess a B, B+, I know nothing about these players other than seeing Marner a handful of times on TV.
9 Picks only 4 Canadians
I'd give this draft a A-. A bit disappointed we didn't trade any roster players *cough cough Kessel cough cough Bozak* for picks but I guess they haven't found the right deal yet. But we picked up some pretty good players.

How would you rate it?
Anyone else hoping we can Sign Godla?
My one issue is I believe heading into a rebuild we need to draft a goalie late every year or every other year. Just increase your odds of having that Goaltender for when you're ready to win
just when I thought the Leafs were finally doing all the right things
they start trading down and this is a terrible approach
every time you move down in the draft the odds of getting a quality player go down
i would rather have a pick in round one (even at the end of round one) then two round two picks and then they traded down again
this is not the nfl
PS the emphasis on the OHL is as bad as the Burke's emphasis on Americans and Truculence - you need to cast your net far and wide - putting so much emphasis on the OHL simply will not pan out - talent is everywhere now
has to be a A
got some potential steals and showed size doesn't matter
C/D for me. Still no potential #1C (Marner is a wing) and no potential #1D. The trade down was quantity over quality for me and we don't have a quality prospect over 6feet tall in the organization aside from the GOAT whose upside is a 3/4 line defensive specialist. There were highly touted prospects like Barzal and Konecky that dropped and with all the talk of getting another pick they trade out of the first round. The core remains the same while teams that drafted ahead of us are stacked and we don't have the elite prospects and young talent like they do. Meanwhile we are "hoping" Marner can bulk up and play C while teams like Buffalo, Edm, NYI and Cgy are stacked down the middle.
