Courses are first and foremost, absolutely dirt cheap. Cheapest and by cheapest I mean ridiculously low priced compared to literally everywhere else in the country, probably continent, possibly the world. It's frickin' goofy, really.

That said, tons of great courses. Winnipeg in my opinion doesn't have the best (private courses notwithstanding, they won't let me in), I prefer country courses. But if you come up I'll take you to a pair I love. That doesn't necessarily narrow it down, but off the top of my head here are pairs we could play in a day doing 36. Long day, but damn man, we have really long days. Nothing at all like winter, when you were up here last. Would be completely awesome.

Pairs:
Morden - Carman - Morden is 1.5 hours away, Carman half hour drive on the way back.
Bridges - Elm Creek - Elm Creek under an hour, Bridges 15 minutes.
Granite Hills - Pinawa - Hour or so from my place. Arguably two of the most beautiful courses in the province. We could sub in Falcon Lake in place of one of those, or just do 72 holes in a day.
Mars Sandhills - Grand Pines - hope like hell we get some rain or they'll be dry, but they play very differently. Hour plus to Grand Pines, Mars on the way back.
Minnedosa - Neepawa - longer drive, 2 hours to Minnedosa, Neepawa on the way home.
Brandon (Wheat City, I think this is the old muni course out there which is surprisingly nice) - Shilo. Again, 2 hour drive, but worth it.
Gilbert Plains - Clear Lake - stupid long drive, nearly four hours to Gilbert, Clear Lake on return but we'd get back at midnight. Or get a hotel, play Minnedosa Neepawa and do 96 over two days.
Rossmere - St. Boniface. Within City limits, probably 15 minutes drive between the two.

All of the above are great. Members here at St. B, Southwood and possibly more, but nobody invites me to those. :naughty: I don't know why, ask @Eyeseeing I'm a frickin' hoot to golf with.

Expensive would be $70 with cart, in Canadian Pesos which is like $0.25 USD.

Come up, I'll organize an HFJets day. :thumbu:
This is very good and bang on, tough to pick my favorite course in Manitoba but i would lean towards Neepawa. That place is a hidden gem . I barely get invited to play at St.B and i'm a member  just kidding.

I grew up in the neepawa area. That course was upgraded to 18 holes when I was in highschool. Played it since I was a kid. It's definitely up there for public golf courses in Manitoba. Not sure if they still do it but there was a Shane Hnidy invatational tournament every year (Shane is from neepawa).

Break it down...

Nice...

Look for q guy with a Mizuno bag...

A snap back Cap...

A red handled bowe'd club...

God help you from there...

I owe you and @Ducky10 a beer for all the advice that got me to the facility so I will have my eye peeled. God help you too a couple of fellow restaurant vets.....what could possibly go wrong .

It was fun to try to transition from Golftec hitting into a tarp, off a mat with identical lie and video assistance to outdoors. Outdoors with no video, no mat and early season natural lie, and actual results.

I took almost 30 seconds between shots and just relaxed and enjoyed the moment, lots of target and feel . Really tried to just get quite in my mind and play. I have a long way to go but I know I am on the right path. The most important thing is I was having fun. I was ready to step away from the game and I am glad I didn’t. I am happy about the choice.

You might play too slow for my liking. Just kidding.

I haven't played there in a long time but have to go and play it again soon. One shity thing about being a member somewhere is you don't play other courses enough.

Clear Lake is nice too and you get to ring a bell if you get it in the clown's nose.

Played Clear Lake twice last Fall for the first time in a long while. Great course, fair and challenging, was in good condition too. DON’T be on the wrong side of the hole on that course though and always know where the lake is, greens can be a nightmare. If you’re above the hole on 9, see ya, the laws of physics won’t allow it to stay on the green o_O.

Neepawa is great, redid one of the 9’s last year though. Not sure where they are at this season with playing a full 18.

Hole 17 on Clear Lake is straight out of a magazine. Beautiful.

If you are willing to drive 2 hours north instead of west, Hecla Island also has a beautiful course. Little on the pricey side, at least back in the early 2000's it was, but the juice is worth the squeeze.

17 is awesome, always a gallery there. It’s about a 3/4 56 degree or a full 60 degree wedge. If it’s wet (which that green usually is), it’s near impossible for your ball not to plug on the green. To get a hole in one, you pretty much have to jar it .

Love Hecla, classic layout and a fun round. Beautiful course that’s fun for high handicappers and challenging for low handicappers.

Reminds me that you could do Hecla and Teulon as a nice double as well.

Ontario shuts down golf courses and now you can only golf as a single or you can golf with the same household in Alberta. Please, Please, Please don't let that happen here . That would be absolutely horrible for people that are members of a club and have paid thousands of dollars to golf. Some courses wouldn't make it through that for sure.

But hey pro sports can do their thing which is and has always been a farce.
Obviously nobody cares about any business let alone the golf business.

I'm hoping the new restrictions we got Friday are given some time to take effect and do enough that they don't need to do more severe ones.

If they take away golf I don't know what I will do with my life lol.

So on Sunday morning we get up to the 2nd tee and there is a church parking lot you can see right now because the trees have no leaves. There are 2 guys standing in the parking lot talking, can't really hear them , then just as i'm about to hit one of them yells out, must be nice to go golf with your buddies but we can't go to a restaurant. Really? We laughed and said ya going to a restaurant and walking outside on a golf course is exactly the same thing. Some people really don't have much common sense at all.

Should have told them to go to the casino. It's still open.

Nice day for some range work at Southwood. 10 minute drive from my office. I am pretty erratic which is an improvement over my previous self which had regressed to all bad. The new gig is a process. I wish my Golftec wouldn’t have been so sporadic with the lockdown.

Having fun just spending an hour outdoors electronics free during the work day. Thrilled it’s not locked down “yet”.

I have this phenomenon now where one day I'm dynamite at the range and the next I'm shanking 2 out of 3 shots. I agree it's an improvement over shanking everything but holy moly it's frustrating when you think you figure something out but really you didn't.
