I'd trade him in a heartbeat if I could get a top 4 Dman.
You bet, stopping goals can be consistent and scoring streaky. But Boeser is a highly skilled complimentary player
Let's trade the guy who's leading the team in goals, what a great idea
To get a guy that help prevent 50 goals a year, oh YA
That's a lot of goals to replace.
Not really, after his 11 goals 4 games and three empty netter's, not really. Lafferty who came out of nowhere has 8 now and is paid a pittance, complimentary players there are a few. Besides even as good as Garland is playing there are a few on the team now that can do the same thing much cheaper.
So Boeser's goals could be made up with a player that scores like Lafferty, PDG, Bains,....
Myers - that was a good effort. Him and Zadorov kept their end clean and consistently moved people off the puck and cleared their zone. Myers has shown that when he gets in the right combo he can be effective as he was with Soucy earlier in the season. Duet of Myers and Zadorov could be a mainstay if they play like this. Liked both on the PK
Myers and Zadorov have been on the ice for only one goal against since Zadorov got here.
There haven't even been that many shots on goal, I think it is 5/6 and I don't think there has been one breakaway.
So for around 1/3 of the game there are almost no shots and no goals.
And they look like they are coasting. Man are they fast though.
Carolina looks like a train wreck.
Canucks have had some luck in getting some team that are flat as a pancake, Edmonton, San Jose, Carolina and a few in the 2nd of back to backs.
It was a win and the team looked inspired for stretches.
Kuzmenko outplayed his line mates by quite a bit. He was not scored on when on the ice. Won 4 of 5 board battles and was often the best back checker on that line. Watch the game.
Tocchet and Miller seem to be the same type of people but Tocchet is the coach and can let his opinions have more weight.
It seems to me that Tocchet has decided there is nothing the Kuzmenko will do that will change his mind.
It also is apparent that he has fixated on him and ignored other more glaring mistakes, Hughes for one, not just jumping on the ice early, not paying attention, to being the last man coasting on back checking for their first goal and standing outside of the box watching with nobody around him on their second, he let his check score. Those are huge mistakes, massive for a defenceman. Cole and Hronek too get passes.
The Canuck management has to make a few more trades, they HAVE to move Garland's contract and Boeser's too. Boeser has not been all that effective since the 14 game halfway mark, 3 of his 7 have been empty netters and has bloated his goal total. Where he is in the stat leaders has as much to do with he has played up to 4 to 8 more games.
Rutherford/Alvin have shown they can find big fast cheap players so replacing those contracts can be replaced for cap savings.
Who knows maybe Tocchet decides that because
