Blockbuster between Philadelphia & St. Louis

The Flyers have acquired young two-way C TJ Oshie, stud RW prospect Aaron Palushaj, and defenseman prospect Ian Cole. In exchange, they sent C Jeff Carter and defenseman prospect Marc-Andre Bourdon to St. Louis

Oshie is a real Philadelphia type of player, and will be the anchor of our 3rd line. Palushaj is going to be a very good 2nd line RW in the near future, and Cole is a very good future top 3 defenseman in our opinion. This move also frees up more money to spend in FA. Jeff had fallen out of favor a bit in Philadelphia, and this change will allow us to shift Claude Giroux to center, where he has been much more successful.

:habs UPDATE

(...)

I will consider every trade offers until noon ET tomorrow. The only thing I am asking is that the move makes sense for my team. No real untouchable but some are because of different reasons (NMC/NTC, recently acquired, etc).

After that, I will likely be done with the offseason.

I will be online all night long.

PM!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I'm ready to discuss some possible deals. Take a look at my roster before (post 2 in the Roster thread) and send your offers and inquiries.

PM!

Sign G Evgeni Nabokov to a 2 yr deal valued at $10 million (5 mil a yr) with a full NMC

We welcome Evgeni to our franchise. He is the best goalie to suit up for our franchise since Beezer

This move also has led us to take our next course of action. We have informed G Cristobal Huet that he has been bought out.

$1,875,000 is his buyout cap hit

We wish Cristobal well

The Ottawa Senators announced today that the club has acquired Corey Trivino from the New York Islanders in exchange for defenseman Filip Kuba.

"We'd like to thank Filip for his time here in Ottawa. Unfortunately, we needed to clear a roster spot for an incoming player."

:isles confirm.

The Islanders need a top four defenseman, Kuba fills in that concern.

The Senators are shopping for a legit top-pairing defenseman. We have lots of assets available to use in a trade.

Hey guys, remember when every game since the summer time, agents ask you to Pm me OFFERS, and not just simply ask "What does player X want?" without so much a team name, or an offer.

I'm not replying to those! So restructure your PM and give me a shout back. Thanks!

Ilya Kovalchuk has signed. If it's not your team, I'm sorry but he was offered a contract he couldn't refuse and he feels like the team and situation he's going into is perfect for him.

Blue Jackets Ink Kovalchuk to 15-year Contract

The monster deal will see Kovalchuk receive $125,000,000 over a 15 year period, coming out to a $8,333,333.33 contract. The first seven years of the heavily-frontloaded contract include a NTC. With Kovalchuk and Rick Nash, the Blue Jackets now have a one-two sniper punch that is nearly unmatched in the NHL.

The Blue Jackets have also signed goaltender Chris Mason to a 1 year, $1.6M contract to tandem with Steve Mason. Mason/Mason will be a formidable goaltending pair.

Good he can miss the playoffs for 14 of the next 15 years

I dunno, I think that team has current and future potential with the right coach. Which reminds me... Columbus has fired Ken Hitchcock.
