TribalPhoenix
Former TribalPhoenix
The main reason he signed as a backup in Pittsburgh was because he wanted to win, he wants a cup.
There were a few teams that offered him a starters spot (like Toronto for example) and he turned it down.
He'll be 37 next season, so he doesn't have much time left, and Columbus isn't going to be a playoff team for a few years minimum.
But then again I'm biased this game, as IR and RR know how I feel about players waiving NTCs.
Incorrect - he was fine going to Toronto, but he wanted a 2 year contract and Toronto would only offer 1 year.
If he performs well, we intend to re-sign him for another couple of seasons at a fair salary. And we don't think the playoffs are a couple of seasons away - we have some holes to fill, but we think we have the right blend of veteran leadership, youth, and elite skill to make us a competitive team.
