Doesn't hurt that he's a local kids, which the organization loves. We're also happy to offer Scott Darling a chance to rejuvenate his career. We feel like when he's on his game he's an upgrade on Mike Condon and we're hoping the change of scenery brings out the best in him.

We wish Zack, Mike, Mark and Gabriel the very best with the Hurricanes organization. All of these guys needed a fresh start to varying degrees and we expect them to rebound with the Canes who seem to be a team on the rise.
