I could be wrong but I think it goes something like

Cup Finalists

Div Winners/Conf Finals

2nd Round Exits by season seed

1st Round exits by season seed

So from my understanding the lower seed they are the higher they'll pick if eliminated in the first round. Someone please correct me if I'm off on this, this stuff changes every damn year.

30 cup winner
29 cup loser
28 conference final loser with more points
27 conference final loser with less points
Any division Winner who didn't make conference finals by points
All other playoff teams left in order of pts.
14-1 non playoff teamd

Advancing one round in the playoffs has no bearing on draft order.

So yeah, a lower seeding in the season will improve their draft position as long as they don't make the conference final.

Thanks

What i meant is basically, them dropping only matters much if they exit early.

why is this even a thread? Can't we just get the regular storm before we get the perfect storm?

That SO win over Boston is going to end up being the difference between The Islanders making the playoffs and Boston missing them.

Perfect storm is already kaboshed. Now it's just draft positioning.
Yep the Islanders could still slip another 5 draft spots. They could end up being the lowest seed in the playoffs. If Pittsburgh beats them tomorrow there's actually a very good chance that's what will happen.

Yeah. We're not rooting for that though. That would be bad. Very bad.

Kinda BS that the Islanders can get all kinds of help stumbling into the playoffs and we can't get a single puck to go our way locking up 30th.

Huge, huge Blue Jackets fan tomorrow night. Not that I'm not a BJ fan every night...
