I could be wrong here--but MANY team turn over their entire roster within 4 years sometimes--he could have done it 3 times so far as GM

Eh, neither is good. Chiarelli has a cup in large part thanks to Gorton who drafted Kessel, Lucic and Marchand in 2006, traded Raycroft for Rask and signed Chara and Savard as FAs. Chiarelli pretty much came in and managed not to ruin what Gorton built for him.
