There is just no creativity, rush potential or offensive threats from our D core and because of that our forwards have to do it all themselves from the defensive zone out. How many times since the All-Star break have you seen Petey get a puck passed to him in the neutral zone with speed? Twice maybe? It's just too much and in the offensive zone the only reason the defending team cares about our pinching D is to get the puck off the for an odd-man rush.

Quinn Hughes (hopefully) will help but he's not enough.

Only one player came out to play this afternoon..brutal performance by the team, and they should be ashamed for putting Marky out to dry like that.

As bad as they were this afternoon, this game was not indicative of the whole season..Generally,they always gave a scrappy effort in games, even when completely outmatched.
Unfortunately, unless this team miraculously finds some mojo in the last month of the season, this afternoon's game WILL be indicative of the whole season.

Let's be brutally honest here. Jay Beagle admitted as much in a post-game interview. This is the time of the year that playoff bound teams amp up their compete level. They're desperate for points and playoff positioning. You're going to playing teams at their best, night after night.

So you have to place far more importance to the games in March versus the dog days of the season in Dec.-Jan, where you might be catching tired teams in your building at the end of a road-trip or in theirs, if you're just starting a road-trip of your own.

These games in March are a far more accurate gauge on where your team is really at. And if the bottom drops out of the bag for the Canucks in yet another March, then this team really is nowhere.

Desjardins was ****ing awful.

He didn't know how to line match, put together effective lines, or do anything.

Like, to say Desjardins and Green are in the same boat is an insult to Green.

Nobody in the actual world of pro hockey agrees with you. We will see how long it takes Green to get another head coaching gig in the NHL when he's fired. It might never happen...

The issue is, our leader is content with

“Not being mathematically out of the playoffs with 20% of the season left”.

Think about that.

That’s our goal. Year FIVE of a rebuild. Meanwhile Boston just bypassed their rebuild and is gonna win another cup before us, 10 years later.

It's okay. We'll just put up with 28 games of this team being outshot 3-to-1 while Markstrom channels prime Dominik Hasek every night. We're winning the Stanley Cup this year!!!!

I was thinking pre-Canucks Luongo but, yeah, Marky has been the sole highlight lately.

You have spoken to every person in pro hockey ? Wow. You’re a busy guy.

Not saying I don’t agree with you, as I hate TG but the dramatics aren’t necessary to make a point.

Dude, who are you?

Somebody who refuses to buy into the ridiculous hate of various people who have been involved with the Canucks that permeates this board. If Willie were REALLY as bad as everybody here says he is he wouldn't be once again coaching in the NHL, nor would he have got his gig with Hockey Canada. If Gudbranson REALLY is "the worst defenseman in the NHL" JB wouldn't have got calls for him at the deadline and wouldn't have been able to trade him for any sort of usable asset. If Gagner REALLY wasn't good enough to play on our NHL roster then Edmonton wouldn't have traded for him and immediately inserted him into THEIR NHL lineup. If Nilsson REALLY was a "trash backup" be wouldn't have won the WHC (and best goalie award) nor would he have been able to get traded to the worst team in hockey and go on a tear. Such talk is completely idiotic, the ravings of lunatics who are so frustrated by their team's lack of success that they can feel only pure hatred for the objects of their ire and who can find absolutely no value in them. Their opinions are worthless. In before some bozo says "but all the GM's in the NHL are idiots..."

At the rate (and manner) with which we lose these Sunday matinees, I won't be choked about working during the next one. Sigh....16 more games and we can close the book on this season.

Post this on the Kings board and see how they respond.
