Thanks for the weak ass goaltending, Elliott. Thanks for putting the WORST BOTTOM PAIRING IN THE LEAGUE out when there are 8 minutes and you're only up by one goal, Gulutzan. Shorten your god damned bench. And thanks for the crap goal review, NHL. Complete garbage all around.

I hope Engelland and Bartkowski ****ing fall in love and run away to Spain tomorrow. I'd rather see two completely unprepared rookies playing on that pairing than one more shift of two idiots who have the mobility and puckhandling skills of a drugged quadruple amputee. They can't even clear the front of the net properly - the thing they're allegedly good at.

Gaudreau? The dude that was shooting all night and getting chances? Backlund? The dude with 2 assists and still solid defensively? Get real, elliot gets all the blame, 6 **** goals in 2 games, defence did their job eillot cant stop a beach ball. Dont even bother protecting him, roll with anyone else.

Came to see the entire fan base blame one player. Leaving unsurprised but still disappointed that our fan base is as sad the the one up north

Even Elliott admits he let the team down. So you can stop diving in front of bullets for him.

Lol Backlund has been invisible, other than his shorty, and when he gives up the puck. Gaudreau makes the wrong choice every time, bad angle? Shoot. No open man? Pass. Also can't enter the zone to save his life, dishes the puck like a hot potato because he's scared to get hit. Elliott's been bad too.

He let in two goals he should've had. That's the bottom line. Yes the Flames had bad puck luck again, but this is the 3rd game straight he has let in a softie. Its an unfortunate trend, but it's hardly a new one.
The Flames deflect more goals into their own net than any team in NHL history, blowing a 401 lead is on everyone, not just the goalie. He's just the easy target.

Either we're the unluckiest team ever, or (more likely), it's alright to blame a goalie for a loss. Elliott wasn't good tonight.

Ftr, I also blame Gaudreau/Backlund as well. We need our best players to show up, they haven't.
It's the whole ****ing team, it's not just Elliott. But most of the posters on here like to pile onto one player like they are the problem, it's downright ****ing pathetic. It's an embarrassment.

It is the whole team. I expect the refs and the TO calls to go against us now. I don't expect our team to take stupid penalties and completely give up with a one goal lead though, the team is weak. But Elliott isn't doing anything to help that cause. For most of the game, everything went right for us, we need our goalie to shut the door in games like that when we have a breakdown.

Backlund is still there playing against top comp every night, did u watch gaudreau? He was firing the puck the first 2 periods. Up 2 goals in the 3rd u play more defensively thats fine, elliot did everything imaginable to **** this game away, offense got you 4 goals, do your damn job

One game at a time now. Not much pressure, eh? Flames can still take the 4th game at home. Win at the Honda Center somehow? oh ****. Now we're talking. As unlikely as it is.
Hockey is ****ing crazy and anything can happen.

2022 Cup to Calgary
I honestly have nothing to say. Bennett, Monahan, Gaudreau, Versteeg, and Ferland were outstanding. Gio, Hamilton, Brodie, Stone were strong enough to win. Backlund, Tkachuk, and Frolik were strong.

... Even Brouwer was good-ish (on the PP).

Something is broken with this team and it's not the core. Every year we have strong goaltenders completely melt down their ability to make routine saves. That suggests Jordan Sigalet is the problem. Seems like a great guy but look at what Brodeur has done over in STL with Allen...

Also need to work on adding team speed to the bottom six. They constantly have to play passively due to lack of foot speed and it costs them these deflection goals.

And lastly need to get a real NHL 3rd pair. Enough 30 year old AHLers. 3 straight years of Engelland have been tough.... before we signed this guy our worst problem was Chris Butler and even had never spent as much time hemmed in.

The problem is that the ones that were deflected in off our own guys weren't the 'weak' ones he should've had. We have had an unusual amount of bad luck in this series. The softies Elliott has let in, in combination with those bad bounces is why we cant hold a lead. Bartkowski and Engelland in games 1&2 were a big part of the problem as well.

This loss though, where the Flames dominated for most of the night? Most of the fault on Elliott in my opinion. It's unfortunate but in the playoffs you need a goalie who you don't worry about making those kinds of saves.

Elliott has been exceptional at times in the season, but his play right now reminds me of October.

Gaudreau's been garbage. A few bad angle shots doesn't change that. We hap multiple chances to make something happen, instead he makes the wrong choice/freezes up. Weak weak weak.

No one is saying there aren't other people to blame, we all just realize that Brian Elliott so prone to stretches of ahl level hockey. Deflections are part of the game, elliott is mentally weak

It's not even Elliott. But people react this way all the time, it's nauseating. They pick one player and **** all over them. It's a disgusting trend that I'm sick of.

Every game it's something different. So frustrating.

Oh well. On to the next one. Might as well win on Wednesday.

This one is still on GG for the most part. No timeout and continuing to dish out equal playing time in a 4-3 deciding playoff game

This team needs a heart transplant. You'd think some of that Hartley "never give up" attitude would've rubbed off. Nope. Went from a system-less relentless team, to a tight system playing gutless team.
