As this will be the first year of his ELC they are going to be looking to have him fully up and running for year 2. Assuming he gets things together and looks like the player he was before his last shutdown, you’d have to think they’d be hoping to get him into at least a handful of NHL games before the season ends.

I know that’s jumping way ahead, but he’s ahead of the arbitrary schedule we have been talking about on here. I think most of us didn’t expect him to play before Christmas.

Exciting times.

I am curious how Vilardi’s rehab team was able to sneak him onto an ice rink to skate without the Canadian press getting wind of it?

He hasn't played in almost 2 years right. Dang this is freakin awesome. While I don't expect a lot from him, it has been a long time since his last game, I just want him to be healthy. Music to my ears. Let's go.

In all seriousness this is a very important milestone, for Vilardi personally first and foremost. He may come out of the gate like a train but it’s more likely we will need to be patient. Apart from there being some ring-rust it quite possible it’ll take some time for him to be confident in his back.
