If there is one thing I've noticed watching American sports broadcasts, it's that y'all love stats a bit too much. There's a lovely comedy bit by Trevor Noah about the matter, too.

If you’ve never seen the movie Major League, you now need to watch it. It’s a baseball movie, and the radio announcer is hilarious. My comment will make even more sense.

I don't know if the average viewer loves stats as much as the commentators would lead you to believe. American football is the worst ... they just make up random stats to fill dead air when they don't have anything of note to say. I find it annoying as hell.
