His best attribute was certainly getting on base, sporting .400 OBP with alarming regularity. His full season career low OBP is .340 in his age 37, and final, season.

Lance will slot in nicely behind the powerplant of Mantle, Hornsby, Gehrig, Campy/Cochrane, causing pitching matchup nightmares and helping drive in any stragglers on base and getting on base himself to extend innings.
