One of the premier table setters in the history of the game. One of only 7 players to reach 3000 hits and 500 stolen bases, despite playing his first 9 seasons in Japan. It took 11 seasons and age to finally get a season where he didn't hit .300 (age 37 saw a .270 average).

.311/.355/.402
107 OPS+

509 Stolen Bases

He'll put the ball exactly where he wants, and it won't be where a fielder can get it

The underappreciated third "Killer B" in Houston's trio. The Big Puma's switch hitting prowess never got the attention it deserved. Not one of the big power hitters, but drove the ball as good as anyone during his era. Not a batting title king, but kept his average around the .300 mark like clockwork. His best attribute was certainly getting on base, sporting .400 OBP with alarming regularity. His full season career low OBP is .340 in his age 37, and final, season.

Lance will slot in nicely behind the powerplant of Mantle, Hornsby, Gehrig, Campy/Cochrane, causing pitching matchup nightmares and helping drive in any stragglers on base and getting on base himself to extend innings.

.293/.406/.537
144 OPS+

366 HR
422 2B

1234 RBI (such a pleasing number to type)

And he's also another player who's numbers tick up when the games count with a postseason slash of .317/.417/.532 in 224 PAs

But not only an OBP king, the guy can rake. With a .530 SLG

2011 Gold Glove
