The Hanshin Tigers select CF Ken Griffey Jr.

There really isn't much that needs to be said about Griffey. He's a fantastic 5 tool player that hit for 630 homers, and had a slash line of .284/.370/.538. There is a reason why every single 90's kid tried to emulate him on the diamond.

"In an era filled with pitching stars, many of them working for the Baltimore Orioles, it took Jim Palmer a few years to rise to the top of the heap. Once he did, he became the greatest pitcher in his league for a number of seasons, and one of the best pitchers who ever lived. Along the way, he achieved success as a model and as a television broadcaster, becoming one of the sport’s most visible and successful figures for several decades." -Mark Armour

The Rocket City Trash Pandas select the best lefty pen arm out there, RP Billy Wagner

images

upload_2019-1-14_15-1-14.png

Standing only 5 feet 11 inches tall, Billy Wagner did not look the part of an intimidating closer and yet he was often mentioned in the same circles as the Yankees all-time closer Mariano Rivera. In fact, both closers entered games to the same song, Metallica's “Enter Sandman,” letting home fans know the game was in hand when they heard the music.
