A ton of interesting matchups are ahead for the 2021 playoffs. CAR/TB both win the league with 108 pts seasons. Unsurprisingly for Tampa who will now face a tough Buffalo team, same story for Carolina who will face the Penguins offensive powerhouse. A classic Toronto/Boston series is also on the schedule, as the Leafs will try to stop the Bruins' Stanley Cup victory streak. In the West, Winnipeg finally makes it, LA just edges Vancouver, who nabbed Saad at the deadline, for top spot in the Pacific. Nashville just misses with 90 pts, Anaheim 88 pts, Colorado 87 pts misses despite acquiring Gallagher, Edmonton ends up 27th, and another tough season for the Islanders, Senators and Red Wings.

2021 NHL PLAYOFFS
Both DAL and LAK crushed their opponents in 4 straight while Vancouver was upset by SJ in 7. In the east Buffalo upsets Tampa in 4, Penguins also upset Carolina and the Bruins move past the Leafs. 2nd round is; DAL/STL, LAK/SJ, BOS/BUF, WSH/PIT
Somehow the Sabres have dealt away with the Bruins in 4 straigth and have yet to lose in these playoffs so far. The Caps make quick work of the Penguins and find themselves in the ECF again. On the other side, the Stars and Sharks will clash in the WCF, with Pavelski facing his former team.
In the ECF, Ovechkin and his clan serve Buffalo some of their own medicine, sweeping them in a hurry, whereas the Sharks and the newly added Tomas Tatar manage to beat the Stars. The Capitals are back in the finals just like in 2017-18 and will face the Sharks who are looking to win it all during the Karlsson/Burns window (but Pavelski and Thornton are both gone).
