That's me in the corner
Are people really upset that we have someone to fill in for Hagel while he has Covid, and then to replace Janmark when he gets moved so we don't have to see Highmore every game. Damn

This trade is a no brainer. Hino is a decent depth scoring option with serious speed on a team that can use some fresh legs down the stretch and some more scoring options in the bottom six. As others have noted, very obvious to see Kurashev hit the wall.

Considering Hagel hit with Covid, Janmark gone and Kurashev hit the wall, I hope we make another move like this. No risk medium reward. Well done, Stan.

We don’t really. He needs to isolate first. So he may become available around the same time Hagel does.

The trickle down impact is good for Rockford as Highmore is a good AHL player. Other than NHL experience, Hino doesn't bring much to the table and there's a potential opportunity cost with him taking a Hawks locker.

Hagel is the last young guy that I would move. We need 2-3 more Hagels, not fewer.

Yeah, work ethic and drive like his is contagious. I'd love to see him and Kubes on Dach's line for a few games to see if they can get something going. That way we'd maybe be able to roll 2 lines with that one and Kane's line that are a threat to score.

Keep Kane/Cat together with maybe Soda. Kane has always played well with big tall centers.

Hawks gave up nothing of value for a player who brings nothing of value

This trade does nothing to improve team and its hopes for a playoff spot

Typical BWC post. Glass half empty, glass half full. Guess how he views the glass.

This is a nothing move in the grand scheme of things. That being said we got the "better" player even if he is barely NHL caliber.

I don't know how anyone gets mad at this, at all. You're just shaking your fist at the sky for the sake of shaking your fist. Best case scenario is Vinnie regains some of his game and can be a 10-15 goal depth guy

worst case scenario is this is a minor league player swap that has no impact on the NHL daily lineup, cap, draft assets, prospect pool, or long term contract spaces/limits

this is the equivalent of walking into a casino and being handed a free $25 chip to throw anywhere on a roulette table. if you win it's all gravy, if you lose, WGAF

I don't know what hagels ceiling is but he has the skill, speed, and forecheck to keep up with the top guys. call me crazy but I think he eventually plays his way into a top six role in the next year or two if he can keep progressing and getting comfortable on the NHL level.

I think he could end up being the lunch pale swiss army knife player parked next to the top guys creating space that we always sort of hoped for in guys like Hartman when we drafted him

Stan traded for a former Hawk? Color me not even .000000001% surprised. He is such a predictable troll. So done with this org not even attempting to 'rebuild'.

On a legit contender I think he’s ideally a very good 3rd liner who is tough as nails to play against.

Imagine being “so done with this org” because we traded a guy who will probably play less than 50 career NHL games for a guy who has actually shown he can be a solid 4th liner and skate well.

So many people evaluate a trade against another theorical trade that isn’t being made and it’s so f***ing dumb.

Example: “WeLl We NeEd A tOp 4 D aNd BoWsTiNk TrAdEs FoR aNoThEr Ex HaWk InStEaD”.

He can make 1000 trades if he wants. The fact that he makes a trade that doesn’t accomplish much doesn’t mean that it’s at the expense of another more valuable trade. There’s absolutely no reason to be pissed about this trade.

I guess bringing back former hawks is Bowman problem and not McD's.

Bowman has always been the problem, the whole thing about McD ruling the show is fiction and was never proven, people making things up, no one knows why McD was even fired, people like to link it to this but reality is no one truly knows, if anyone has any concrete sources please post them I would like to read them.

You can be happy with this trade and nobody slags you. Your prerogative. But for me personally, Inwould say that another 4th liner is OK with me.....just not another former Hawk. Because does it mean Stan was wrong to trade him in the first place?

Below is a quote from a pub we all know. But hey, some of you guys are so clever and smart with the piling on you are oblivious to the irony of it all because, you know, he has been terrible in a good team this year but you say he is serviceable. I say he is not needed nor was the trade needed unless for expansion draft.

‘Because the Blackhawks’ front office imagination appears to be incapable of venturing beyond the walls of its own practice facilities, Chicago did what Chicago does on Friday afternoon and re-acquired a former player by trading Brad Morrison to the Panthers for Vinnie Hinostroza. ‘

Dundas, Ontario. Can
Brian Campbell, Daniel Carcillo Adam Clendening, Vinnie Hinostroza, Nikolai Khabibulin, Marcus Kruger, Andrew Ladd, Jeremy Morin, Johnny Oduya, Brandon Pirri, Brandon Saad, Patrick Sharp, Andrew Shaw, Kris Versteeg (twice).

Gotta admit that the above list of ex-Hawks brought back to the fold has mostly questionable players but not all. I think bringing back Hino was one of Stan's better decisions.

Interesting note from The Athletic article on the trade. It looks like it was initiated by the Panthers.

Why did the Panthers trade Hinostroza? For one, Panthers general manager Bill Zito wanted to do right by Hinostroza. Zito has known Hinostroza for a long time, and Zito recognized Hinostroza wasn’t likely to get much more of an opportunity this season. Zito approached the Blackhawks, not the other way around. Secondly, this does free up some cap space for the Panthers. They never placed Hinostroza on waivers, so they’ve been carrying his cap hit.
