As I recall, he wanted to come to Montreal, but the Russian hockey federation prohibited him. Too bad. One of the greatest of all time.

There was tons of hype for this guy right after we bought him out. He signed with the Leafs and left NA shortly after.

Salmelainen was a demon in NHL 2K8 or one of those games. When we traded Samsonov for him I was like "awesome, this could be a great pickup!!". Then we bought him out the next day and it was like "oh...".

From way back. Everybody knows Mats Naslund.. But what about the next big star from Sweden in the mid 80s. Kjell Dahlin.
Scored 30 plus goals in his rookie year but then injuries cut his career short. I recall my Dad saying " how can he score when he's always falling on his arse?".
Had to lookup his name.

Lou Fontinato, rugged defenseman known for his headfirst crash in the boards, scared the hell out of me.

Jean Gauthier, one of the first offensive defenseman but couldn't hold his own on defence.

Tony Esposito, I liked him, always on his knees but reminded me of Glenn Hall which he relieved with the Hawks
