The Oilers have a poll in their free-agency thread asking which UFA they would like to see the Oilers sign most. The most popular player at the time of signing with the Flames?: Jacob Markstrom.

The backpedaling is unreal.

Now they are claiming koskinen is just as good.... sad

Calgary is twice as big as Vancouver and his salary doubles. But there is only one Elias on each team.

I was happy with our draft so being a “retool” guy I am now okay with the sentiment of going big in the goalie department and keeping the core together.

Expected to be one of the Flames top 5 goalies of all time...

The bar is about as high as a hurdle.

All along I've been thinking about how a 6x6 was a good expectation for getting a top flight goalie. It's something the Flames have lacked in a long time and are going into next season with a strong goalie tandem. Just gives a really strong look in net while while leaving 10.9 million to re-up Mangi and Kylington. If you get Brodie back or another top pairing d-man, you won't be able to upgrade your forwards which is rough.

Good signing Flames. Remember when everybody was crapping on the Hellebuyck signing. This will help your team. Shitty that I own Rittich in a Roto league.. lol

I'm not thrilled with the 6*6 but i thought it was going to hit 7*7+ based on all the tweets so I am ok. Not happy with the full NMC ...

and I will be ecstatic if it means the Oilers end up trading for Varlamov or even better Fleury

Dunno about the term, but good for the Flames. Been looking for a legit starter since Kipper and hopefully they just landed him.

Looking forward to the BoA next season!

So actually not terrible if we buy him out after 4 years or after 5 years if he doesn’t age too well. Somewhat reassuring
