It's easier than hiring our own scouts :dunno:

Columbus isn't going to even have any draft picks for the next two years at this point. Maybe we can just loan their scouting staff to do our amateur scouting and picks too. Keep them employed.

Man, his value fell drastically over 365 days.

2018: 1st round pick, elite G prospect, Reaves and Ian Cole.
2019: 3rd round pick.

We traded overpaid 3rd liners for a bunch of picks and cap space. Dale deserves what he gets for the expansion draft but this is good. People have not watched Brassard this year. Who on earth would give a 2nd? Teams have scouts.

If Greer becomes even a 4th line NHL player, he'll become the most successful non 1st round selection since ROR/Barrie, ten years ago.

No we get a pick too, Florida just get the 3rd.

Timmins will be an NHL defensemen. No doubt about that barring an explosion of his brain

Let's be real, they won't be sending us their scouts, we'll be sending them our picks for the next player they want to get rid of this summer. I'm so excited to watch Wennberg & Kerfoot try to recreate the spiderman v spiderman pic!

That's one way to spin his trigger-shyness.

Lol he was patient on Duchene and that is the reason we can be patient this year. We aren't winning the cup, why spend assets to make a run and possibly tie up cap space if we get players with term, Sakic has a plan and it's worked brilliantly. No teams that finish with 48 points total, make the playoffs the following year and continue to compete for a playoff spot even while in midst of a rebuild. We hold a guaranteed top 5 pick, our own first, an elite prospect in Makar who will be ready next year and a whole lot of cap room to sign some people up this summer. He's been great.

I don't have a problem with it. However, the time for being patient is coming to an end. Sakic needs to be aggressive starting this summer.

I don't have a problem with it if was just a temporary strategy, and not a reflection of Sakic's general approach to problem-solving...which we'll start finding out this summer.

Nick Bjugstad is a 35 point player making 4.5 million and Florida unloaded that deal without retention. Tallon got out of his mistake. This is just gravy.

That Zibanejad trade looks worse than ever right now.

And it was Erat/Forsberg bad even when it happened.
