CBJ, if you're wondering why your +/- could be so bad, it's because Luke Glendening at 5v5 was on the ice for 9 goals for and 43 goals against at 5v5, or a difference of -34.

I don't believe that would happen on a team that doesn't suck colossally - I don't like Glendening because he doesn't do anything offensively (and I mean ANYTHING) but I can't see him being -34 with him being decent defensively and seeing much less TOI.

2. adjusting sum of goals by average PDO
3. prorating it to an 82 game season
4. adjusting average GF% of a team's drafted players by PDO
5. dividing PDO sum of goals by PDO average GF%
6. that gives me the total number of goals scored with team on ice, and so I can get the goals against

So in theory if someone picked a Red Wing and a Bruin of equal skill, the Bruin would still likely grade out MUCH better than the Red Wing, especially if say they were both shut down role players? Just trying to wrap my head around it

I’d like to think my team is better than Detroit this year haha. I feel like Luke and Clutterbuck are 2 thirds of a good 4th line. Would be playing limited 5v5 minutes for sure.

This assumes your starter played all 82 games. I got the league average shooting percentage and reverse-engineered everyone's PDO from there where the "league average goalie" part of PDO has been replaced by your goalie's save percentage. Some of you will have improved, and some of you will have, tragically, gotten worse.

You cant predict that well with that stuff. Imo.
