Dallas 1st 2015

"We paid a lot, but we really like Bogo. Larkin was a player we were targeting in the draft, and we attempted to move from the 2nd round to get him. Comrie brings high end potential to our prospect pool, which is weak at the goaltending position. Burmi is an incredibly skilled player, and we are confident that we will be able to bring him back over to NA. The coming draft is going to be a deep one, and adding an extra pick in the first round is something we are very excited about."

"Thanks to Naz and Cody for all they have done in the organization and the ******** they had to put up with from the media. Wish William, Spencer and Josh the best in their future endeavours."

"Also would like to thank Produce and Nowitzki for the six days of excruciating negotiations "

:jets Confirm our portion of this bad boy.

While we moved several assets, we are very happy with what we were able to return in this deal. Bogosian was tough to move, but you gotta give to get. Comrie was buried by our goalie depth, and Burmistrov is a jerk who made it clear he won't be back in NA for a little bit. We want guys who want to play here so we were fine parting ways with him.

Brenden Dillon is a very, very good young defender who's upside is sky high. He's already established himself as a good, physical, top 4 defender. Very excited to have him join our ranks.

Alex Chiasson has shown the ability to score in a top 6 role. He has great size, and will be a very effective player for us now, and in the future.

William Nylander is a player we are very, very excited about. He has an elite skill set which we hope to harness and help him reach his high end potential. Most recently, We were targeting him at the draft but it didn't quite pan out how we had expected. In any case, we think he and Filip Forsberg will become a deadly duo for us in the near future.

We thank Toronto and Dallas for their efforts in getting this done!

The Calgary flames have a trade to announce.

:flames
Paul Postma

Joe Colborne

:jets Confirm.

We had a logjam at D, and Paul was unfortunately the odd man out. Joe is still an intriguing player for us. He has good size, and we hope we can help him develop into the type of player he was touted as. We thank the Flames for their patience and easy dealings.

:flyers ACQUIRE NYGREN

The Philadelphia Flyers have traded forward Jason Akeson to the Montreal Canadiens for defenseman Magnus Nygren.

"It was difficult to part with Akeson but we are very high on Nygren and we are happy to add him to our team. He is NHL ready and we believe he has top 4 potential. He will start the season in Philadelphia as the 7th defenseman and we expect him to get a roster spot in a near future. We wish Akeson all the best in Montreal."

Habs confirm the move.

''Wish the best to Nygren in Philly, high potential but we felt we needed more depth on offence than defence at this point.

Jason's showed really good things in the playoffs and the past few years in the AHL. He's got a good potential as a scoring winger and we hope he continues to improve as a player.''

Last call if you want to talk trades as we plan to announce our final roster tomorrow. Still open to trades ideas if there are other teams around.

Confirmed.

We needed to clear space, and we found Upshall a home where he would get a chance to redeem himself in a contract year. We're good with it.

Updates East UFA Forwards, off to bed. Will update in the morning and start PMing people/lower-end guys may start signing. The big guns should start signing by tomorroow afternoon/night, so if you have a big pitch now is teh time to use it.

Vanek is very close. 1 offer is a really good fit, one offer is really good linemates, and the 3rd offer is less money but an interesting team

Iggy will sign tomorrow, is also a very close race between the 2 bids

Komarov would rather play in the NHL, but the money is a little underwhelming. He's hoping a team will up their offer to sway him from the grip of the Kremlin ;)

Some of the guys with no offers may start looking to Europe tomorrow as well. Grabo, Jolkinen and Hemsky would likely garner some significant KHL interest

:sabres

In Buffalo news, Jamie McBain still available for a pick/prospect/similar D-man (don't mind older and/or more expensive, but would have to be a 1yr deal)

We'll do one more game. July 1st is the date that I don't like to go over. If we start another one by the weekend, we can maybe have our draft the day before the actual draft and wrap up FA before July 1st.

I can do the draft the night before the real one - I'll just be packing to leave for Philadelphia anyways :P

I'm heading out west on the 1st, so it would be fantastic if the game was done by then.

:leafs

Tyler Kennedy is available. Speedy winger with a great shot and plays well defensively. Won't cost much after a meh year.

Other than that we are likely done on the trade front.

PM!

What are the rules with regards to exceeding the cap due to bonus laden deals such as ELC? Can teams exceed the cap by the amount the bonuses are worth and if it turns out said player earns that bonus they can apply those to the following seasons' cap?

That's how it works in the NHL, so that's how it works for us.

Ok thanks. I honestly wasn't sure if that was how it still worked in the NHL but noticed on Capgeek players such as MacKinnon were only being counted as a $925K cap hit instead of the $3,775,000. Yay to more capspace for me!

Last chance for Jannik Hansen and Jacob Markstrom! If you have any interest in either player, let me know!
