He’s innocent until proven guilty. He’ll be in the NHL next season.
Agreed. The investigation will also take weeks as well. He's not going anywhere.

Ah so if he was charged with homicide the Sharks would keep him on the roster until the verdict. He’s innocent until proven guilty. He’ll be in the NHL next season.

Stereotype much? How about NLA? Switzerland is "good" with financial discretion.
How does that not help a Khl team win and bring in revenue. He’d still be a top 10 player in KHL history ( not including lockouts )You need to give us Europeans more credit that we know better than to sign the best known gambling addict in sports to our teams.
Even the shadiest of shady KHL owners will pass on him.
If they weren’t snowflakes and actually cared about winning they would. I would.Ah so if he was charged with homicide the Sharks would keep him on the roster until the verdict.
I’m using an extreme example to show that “guilty until proven innocent” doesn’t always apply. NHL teams can and will terminate contracts between when allegations become convictions. Are you seriously comparing gambling with homicide here? Jesus buddy.
That’s quite a reach.
Quite the comment. A clear emotionally upset ex wife accuses ex of gambling on Instagram is definitely equal to the feds charging a man with homicide.Ah so if he was charged with homicide the Sharks would keep him on the roster until the verdict.

I’m literally laying in bed.Chill out, his soon to be ex-wife made a post on social media. There is nothing proving he actually bet on his games.
Unless she was the one at the betting window making his bets?Chill out, his soon to be ex-wife made a post on social media. There is nothing proving he actually bet on his games.
Maybe he was betting against himself
With the Sharks wanting to compete this season, they aren’t going to terminate his contract unless he is proven guilty or they have a cheap trade lined up for Tarasenko/Eichel.It’s probably in Kane’s best interest for the Sharks to terminate his contract since the court ruled they can’t go after future earnings if I’m not mistaken. The team doesn’t need guilt to terminate the deal as the Richards case showed.
Not really a stereotype. Their banks won't disclose customers no matter what.Stereotype much?
Ummm….. better chance he winds up in jail.26M in debt and now investigated about betting on his own games. He is still a serviceable player and I think he could still earn a decent paycheck somewhere. I doubt that KHL-players in Russia will have their paychecks reduced by debts to US casinos? Is this Kanes only option?
He had 32 goals and 72 point pace, Kane is an NHL player and a very good one. He essentially was on pace to hit career highs, how many points could he score if he wasn't throwing games? I highly doubt anything comes out of these accusations in form of suspension or termination of contract.
Even if found guilty the NHLPA will say gambling addiction should be treated as a mental health issue, he'll be forced to go to counseling or whatever and be back immediately.
