Kane was going to sign with a contender.. if he signs here then are we contenders?

Ya, if that is the criteria then one of the Florida teams makes the most sense.

If he's looking for a place to pump up his stats then the Oilers make sense. He can take 1:30 shifts, stay out for the full PP and no one will care! Plus there's no pesky third and fourth liners to eat away at his ice time.

But he may have to do all the dirty work if he gets stuck with Draisaitl and Nuge

He was in Stauffers show after and said he didn’t want to move assets for long term help either. He wants to develop that help from within and wants to overripen prospects before bringing them in. Said he needs to see more from Skinner and that the goaltending should be better now that Smith is back. These are things he said.

So basically we've gone full-circle from the beginning of the decade of darkness and are back to Tambellini.

Smart move by Kane, play wing with Mcdavid and Drai to boost his stats and get another pay day next offseason. Absolute dumb move by Holland as this teams leadership can’t handle themselves let alone the NHLs premier diva in Antonio Brown 2.0.

Zack Kassian, Louie debrusk, Grant Fuhr, Craig MacTavish, Jarrett Stoll, Raffi torres, Mark Messier, Glenn Anderson, Kevin Lowe, Taylor Hall (stay angry it's true) off the top of my head.

This needs to be about winning not an arbitrary line made up.

Idk. Signing a gongshow like Kane doesn't seem like a risk worthwhile for a contending, fully complete lineup. Why rock a steady ship. Kane is a risk for a desperate team, like Edmonton.

A risk that can be quickly buried with little cost, if it doesnt work out

It is a gamble, but what do we have to loose? I'd be worried about the locker room chemistry if I believed we have one. Just play out the season, win a round with this idiot and hope some of our prospects are ready to deliver next season.

We will see if Kane truly wants to turn his life around by choosing Siberia over Florida and its vibrant night life

Not to mention wanting to earn a decent paycheque or if he wants to get Pat Maroon'd (potentially without the actual Cups)

Because he’s not going to throw guys under the bus and show his cards.

Not sure why people take these media avails at face value.

What GM is going to lay out a step by step plan of action?

Well fact that none of the bigger names have confirmed this is really making me wonder. Wait and see I guess.

Feels strange getting inside information from a former ref.

Almost like when Eklund declared Ryan Smyth resigned with Edmonton only to see him traded to the Islanders a few minutes later.

Many why do we keep bringing shitbags into an org. On the bright side I guess it's a potential cheap near ppg winger if he's in form? Hopefully he doesn't sewer an already weak locker room.

Exactly, media scrums are about towing the company line, and hiding one's cards because it is usually advantageous to the team to do so.
