Thanks! When it comes to the Sens I'd take Garrioch's word over Nick's any day of the week.

The one thing with Garrioch is while he has a pretty good connection with the Senators organization, he's mostly saying what they want him to say. Mackenzie and Dreger though are saying different things than Kypreos and Friedman though.

Oilers are VERY in on him and included in some of the stuff going the other way is Lucic..... Have to think that includes this years first.

I think, at this point, Drai straight up for Karlsson would be a mistake on Edmonton’s part. Too much risk with Karlsson.

If he was still in top form, that trade would probably still wind up favouring Ottaea, given where that pick is likely to end up.

Why do you assume he has no inside connection? The guy is in the business and talks hockey with professionals all day long. Of course he's going to have some inside knowledge.

I'm not in anyway endorsing the OP's scenario, but if what has been said is to believed, and EK is packaged with Ryan, and Ottawa is expecting 6-8 pieces back, you likely aren't getting a star/elite asset in there, just a lot of good assets.

Dont get me wrong, neither of them are getting Karlsson traded. But the Isles one at least looks respectable. The Leafs awful is really quite terrible.

Unpopular idea, but what would Karlsson and Ryan for Weber and Montreal's 2019 1st rounder sound? Sens still get a 1D while getting rid of Ryan's contract.

I would do it, but only in the condition that Karlsson extends with MTL.
