Not as good as Wolanin in Belleville
(So far). Let’s see what he can do here.
What....the.....hail is... this?
He was damn near a top 10 prospect in all of hockey (#11)
He was only Vegas's second best prospect because their best is Cody Glass and some argued he was better. You know, the guy who is arguably more valuable than anyone not named Chabot in the entire Senators organization...
only watched half the game but hes looking great.
has that EK confidence where he wants the puck and wants to do something with it.
this team needs heck of a lot more of that
2019-03-15Erik Brannstrom (D)BellevilleADDReturned on loan from Ottawa (NHL)
He is a fair but younger, I think.
I was shocked he was out protecting a 1-0 lead with a minute to play.
Exactly. Brannstrom is only 19... most 19 year olds aren't even eligible to play in the AHL.
Comparing him to a far more developed and polished 23 year old in a men's league isn't exactly a fair comparison.
reminds me a little of Kimmo Timonen. If he can turn out like him ,.. I'll be happy.
I would play him at least another 1/2 season in Belleville. He has a great package but still has lots to learn from my viewings of him in Belleville. I missed his debut game.
He seems to have a lot of confidence in plays even if he makes a mistake. They were talking about him on the radio. He attempted a two line pass and it went for icing. He shrugged it off and completed two more in the the game then went for scoring chances.
Wait till he tries to get a pass to stick to Zack Smith's stick
If Smith miss the pass (most likely)
The icing will be waved off (most likely) since its Zack W. Smith
An analysis of Erik Brannstrom’s game reveals a player...[paywall]
Great article breaking down Brannstrom's strengths and areas where he needs to improve.
Having the highest PPG in the last 20 years as an U20 defender in the AHL(outside of Carlson who played on a dynasty AHL team) is something of serious note.
He has dominated or played exceptionally well in every level of hockey he has played in. I think he's at minimum a top pairing defender. Huge things coming boys, let's hope Melnyk gone by then cause we can be a serious team.
I can see the headlines now.
Sens coach benches Brannstrom for bad pass.
Do you guys predict Brannstrom will finish the season with the Sens in April? Or will he be available if Belleville make the AHL playoffs?
Belleville will make the playoffs and with the team they have right now they could make a surprise, I think it would be a mistake not to leave our young players in Belleville see some playoff action and some relevant games to finish the season.
He stays down in Belleville.
Im pretty sure he has to stay down in Bellville anyway so we don't burn a year off his RFA eligibility or something like that.
For those of us without an active subscription, can you or somebody else provide the coles notes? I keep thinking I should subscribe again...
what does this even mean
Look who is ranked 21st
NHL prospect rankings: Top 50 players in NHL pipelines for 2019-20
should be even higher than that. I would never trade Brannstrom for Adam Fox
Wow... That list is, uh... something else...
Zadina at 4th and Veleno at 17? They seem overly high on Sandin too putting him ahead of Dobson.
Eww... Boqvist ahead of Hughes... Not a fan of that one either.
