They need to insert some size and grit. Lauzon and Frederic may make Tampa think twice about pushing our guys around. Tampa is consistently pushing them around, and the Bruins really don't have an answer. That's why Maroon is laughing at Connor Clifton.

TB forward corp is no bigger than Boston's. In fact
TB has 6 F 5:11 or under. TB size is on their D corp.
Boston D men can't handle their speed thats the problem.

Tampa Bay's Defense is much bigger, though.

Always been intrigued by Clifton on the wing
I think it was when Pat Burns was here, the club was struggling for offense and he put Jonathan Girard up front and he ended up scoring the game winner against the Rangers. Cliffy has some some offense and his piss and vinegar could make the Tampa D-men eyes sting.
He could take a turn here and there on D as well, and Z could be rested and used on the PK.

Except for the two times Brad stood on the doorstep and no one noticed him.

One was a powerplay and the other time they were desperate for once in the game and pushed the issue. The other 3/4 of the game they stayed away from the slot because unlike our dee the crease was off limits. Vas had a easier game compared to Halak.

I said that, Boston's issue is defending their own end.

Big game tonight. Need to tighten up the d and clear the f***ing puck more effectively than they did last night. Shameful how many failed chances they had to clear it before the OT goal ended up in their net. You can't give bad teams 3rd and 4th chances, let alone a good offensive one like Tampa. Take better care of the puck.

For the most part TB F have won probably 75%
of the races to loose pucks in Boston end. Add in their
quickness on the FC and some of Bostons D is not getting time to make a play, especially Chara and Carlo.

Bad feeling about tonight. I think the Bolts come out flying...

Yeah I'm uncommonly pessimistic about tonight - I think Tampa scents blood and a tired Bruins core and is going to come out and hunt a statement win. But there is always hope. Boston simply must get the jump, play hard and with purpose, and show they won't be an easy kill.

The 2nd line in particular got completely shut down yesterday and needs to respond, and Cassidy needs to find a way to get Coyle back in the game. I feel like if they try to grind out a result, as they often do, it won't work here. Need to be a little more daring and assertive.

The Big Smoke (unfortunately)

That's certainly one problem. The other is getting any sustained pressure in the o-zone and getting scoring chances from in close (from anyone other than Marchand). Look at the heat map from the end of the GDT.

edit: but that was then, this is now. Go Bruins!!!! #justf***ingscore!!!!

Theres no chance they don't play tonight right? Basketball is on strike as of now and baseball games are getting cancelled.
