Theres also Cast Away, Saving Private Ryan, Charlie Wilsons War and Philadelphia as options.

Heres a couple more

Matt Damon - Good Will Hunting (but theres also the Bourne series and others)

Robin Williams - this is a really hard one.

Ben Affleck - A lot of choices but I think I'd go with one of The Town, Argo or Gone Girl.

Johnny Depp - where do you even start?

Matthew McConaughey - Dallas Buyers Club

George Clooney - Oceans 11
Mcconaughey has always been Wooderson from Dazed and Confused

He also had a small role in Zombieland, but that would also be one of his most iconic roles

It wasn't that widely viewed a film and it was only a cameo, no matter how great it was.

Your own criterion is this:

Just to be clear, when I said "iconic", I meant most known for.

You really think he's more well known for Zombieland or Caddyshack than Ghostbusters?

Figured Oldman would be tough. He's a case where his best work is in less popular movies, and his work in more popular franchises (Batman, Harry Potter), while solid, doesn't leave much of an impression (as it shouldn't).

His role as Gordon was pretty notable, especially in the 3rd movie. Tho obviously his Churchill performance was something else.

Jeff Goldblum
Jurassic Park or The Fly?

Jurassic Park or Independence Day.

Bradley Cooper
Silver Linings Playbook or The Hangover?

Jake Gyllenhaal
Donnie Darko?

Ryan Gosling
The Notebook

For Cooper is tough, I mean he was also great in Place Beyond the Pines, American Sniper and American Hustle.

Gyllenhaal -I'd go with Nightcrawler here. He played that role to a T.

Gosling - Notebook seems like an easy cop out no? Tough one here.
