'Dubas watching CGY OTT game tonight'

Wow!

Only one GM in the whole league looking at making trades I guess...

Leafs haven't been relevant for years...
They are very relevant. When their GM watches a game, it is news. It also warrents a thread on hockey's future.

It's cool the user name Leaves easily reminds people of the Leafs.
Actually a fan of both teams. As a German I have grown into a Sens fan with the drafting of Stützle. But i’ll always be a Leafs fan also.
That’s why i petition so hard for Paul, cause I know how good of a fit he’d be on the Leafs.

I stand corrected. My apologies.

I think Tampa Bay set a precedent last year by overpaying for players that fit the roster rather than acquiring players that are available. I think we will see this happening more often in the coming years.

It’s not like Nick Paul is a bum either, he’s one of the best players in the league at what he does. Sure he may be a third liner, but he’s one of the best in the league at that.

Paul doesn’t have a track record anywhere close to that of Goodrow and Coleman, what are you talking about? The Leafs don’t need another third liner either when they’re swimming in depth pieces even with Vesey and Boyd gone to Vancouver.

It might mean nothing, but all the hockey insiders are reporting. I think it's more than something.

My guess (obvious) is that OTT is open for business minus a couple of untouchables.

Who might fit and Dubas could pry from OTT?

TOR & OTT have been strong trade partners in the past.

Anyone from Ottawa doesn't have to go through any covid protocols.

Ya think?

How is he in the arena?

Have you ever watched Nick Paul play? He’s a HOUND on the puck, never gives up and
is an absolute moose when the puck is on his stick. Not to mention he’s a great skater too Paul doesn’t have a track record anywhere close to that of Goodrow and Coleman, what are you talking about? Paul is signed at a gift of a contract for this year and next, so Toronto goes all in on Paul and they can have him for not only this years run but next also? All while he’s making only 1.35M!!?
Only problem is the ED, however if Toronto let Hyman walk Paul can be his replacement at a fraction of the cost for next season thus allowing TML to protect him.

This is the year TML has to go for it, they have a rather easy road to the ECF and once there it’s only 2 series wins away from the SC.
Don’t think you’ll find any Tampa Bay fans complaining about how they overpaid for Goodrow or Coleman.

Hes scouting players... every GM does it all the time. And of they don't, they aren't doing their job

Not really big news

I don't want any shapeshifters on this team, call me old fashioned but they just don't belong in the league.

Surprised to read that an NHL GM will be watching a hockey game and not something else, like porn, or reruns of Married with Children.

There's more Rock 'Em Sock 'Em entertainment in both of those than in NHL games most nights so can't blame them. Grow a set Kyle and do a blockbuster so we can see Tkachuk in Blue and White.

I've mentioned this before - Paul is exactly the type of player Toronto needs. I don't see Dorion having any interest whatsoever in moving him, as Pierre Lebrun confirmed.

Maybe take a flyer on Bennett?

Dubas would have had a fantastic view of most of Ottawa’s pending UFAs in the neighbouring press box.

Dzingel, Reilly and Bishop were the only ones playing.
