Love these Oracles. Why aren’t you in Hawaii with all your ProLine winnings over the years?

That one was easy. Second game in two days. Leafs started first game already tired. Opponent has good defense. Andersen starting.

Keefe basically begged Dubas to make a move in the post game interview

subtle but it was there

"we dont have any flexibility to make any roster changes for tomorrow"

Leafs have Nic Robertson, Calle Rosén, Scott Sabourin, Martin Marincin and goalie Joseph Woll on Leafs 5 man Taxi Squad.

On the brighter side, the leafs weakness has been exposed. Its up to Dubas and keefe to address this before the playoffs. Goaltending is a bigger need than a top 6 forward. If Campbell cant stay healthy, it's time to trade for another goalie.

This 100%
Why would the team be looking for the best possible shot, trying to maximize possession? The answer is that they didnt trust andersen in a subsequent turnover after a shot. If you trust your goalie, you are likely to shoot more.

A goalie the team doesn't trust is the worst thing you can have on a team built around high flying creative offense. Confidence is a major part of our game, when it's not there you start seeing a bunch of 'almost' plays where passes are a foot or two off their mark because guys are second guessing themselves.

Notice how we suddenly start completing passes and putting way more pressure on the other team when Andersen gets pulled? Sure we're a man up but we don't always see that on the PP.

Well Martin Skoula, you hit a very strong salient point. We still have a lot of points, so I suppose management still wants to give Andersen, at least a chance, at becoming whatever he once was.

Yet, Andersen, looks totally lost. Yes, this team, like most teams, needs strong goaltending to allow them to pull off complicated offensive parries.

Its why Tampa Bay cleans many a clock. As not only do they have great defence and offence, they have strong goaltending.

I too, urge, Dubas, to get some goaltending Rather than a top 7 forward.

But what is really available at this stage of the season?

Andersen is almost curing me of enjoying following the Leafs this season, and I have never said that, ever before.

Too bad that Engvall goal got scrubbed btw. We might have gone on one of our tears.

I will also say, that a good friend of mine who does a lot of business with former Leafs, shocked me about a month ago, remarking that Tavares was unhappy.

I asked him for specifics, but he deflected the conversation to another topic.

Why a guy making the money he is, in his hometown would be unhappy is beyond me. Maybe he doesn't like his linemates.

I suppose everyone on the team would love to play with Marner or Matthews.

Unfortunately, they don't grow on trees.

As usual Leafs start off the season strong then start to fall halfway through...
I dont know if they can even make it with mediocre defense and goaltending....
Andersen said he was dealing with a lower body injury I dont think he can handle the work load by himself.... and they need a defnsemen instead of a forward.

Last week I was blasted on this board for suggesting that Andersen should be the one sitting instead of Hutch based on their play this year.

You can tell by the body language that this team has absolutely no faith with Andersen in net. I can’t believe there are some fans that want Gardiner back. Some people here must be gluttons for punishment.

I heard of Sunny’s Halo and knew the name soon as i read it. My uncle was in to harness racing so likely i heard it around that crowd. Impressive horse, well impressive is a understatement really. I just Wikipedia’d him ha. The good stuff trumps everything.

I worked the Harness Races at Mohawk and did some work for the Ontario Racing Commission way back when. I've been to 19 Harness tracks in Ontario.

It's too bad Sandin is hurt. Dermott needs to come out for at least a few. Just about every mistake he makes leads to either a goal against or a grade A scoring chance.
And don't even get me started on Rielly!

Are you referring to Travis "I went to the Jake Gardiner school of headfakes and jimmy shakes" Dermott? That guy is NEVER going to be more than a 3rd pairing D...he always hesitates with the puck...and then does the wrong thing. He brings ZERO offense to the game with questionable defense to boot. At least with Reilly you can say he provides some scoring to help balance his atrocious defensive play. I like every single guy on D except those 2.

Meh, the Leafs didn’t even play well and still had a great chance to win despite the game being tied thanks to that weak first goal Freddie expectedly gave up.

The horrendous third goal sealed it, you could see it in the teams legs. They’re starting to play so nervous in front of Andersen in fear that any mistake goes in, and as a result they’re making more mistakes.

It's gotten to the point for me this season that I pretty much expect every shot to go in..and I am pleasantly surprised when they don't....it's how I cope with Freddy in net. It's like they have a cardboard practice goalie in the net and any reasonable placed shot goes in. He literally has not stolen us a game in forever. I honestly can't remember the last time we deserved to lose and won because of Fred....it's been that long.

Campbell was an 11th overall pick...he never got a real chance to show his colors because of injuries early on in his career. It's a shame because he has the talent to be a number 1 goaltender...he just has the injury luck of Lupul.

Well, as I said, it wasn't my bs. But is this breaking rules? If so, will desist. I really didn't think too much about it, but Tavares, to me, seems sluggish and maybe 1/4 step slower than I remember from last year.

I love Campbell, I think that is pretty well universal. But boy, an injury prone goalie, in the toughest position in hockey? Its not pretty on the goaltending front.

And this quaranteeing is awful on any athlete, confined to your room basically. But a goalie? Murder.

They need to be stretching in a good space, in practise situations, not in a room for 14 days. If we trade for one, poor guy might be stiff as a board after that time.

What kind of person hates hot showers? Do you hate puppies and donuts too? :)

Can't stand heat. I suffer from a condition no doc/specialist has been able to figure out, going back few decades now. Not pleasant I tell ya :(.
On the dog front, don't even go there. Although no dogs in the household presently, but 2 rescue cats, you are talking to an animal lover/activist bud ;)

I’m curious to know what you think is the problem?
The 5 guys in front of him are a problem as well. Cant clear loose pucks, cant cover their guy. Just a couple of examples. Andersen screws up too, not saying hes NOT the problem but its not 100% on him. Until Dubas does something to address are goaltending issues, we're kinda ****ed! Campbell is hurt. Hutch? well you never know what you're getting out of him.
