Yeah.
Your wrong.
Shore/Petan/Kerfoot/Barry.
Really.
Do you actually watch?
I'm surprised Shanahan is letting Dubass ride this
team with just speed and skill. Which anyone with
half a brain knows you can not win a stanley cup.
Every team needs at least 6 or 7 elements to win.
Speed, Skill, Grit, Toughness, good defencemen,
size, and good goaltending. Of the seven the leafs have three.
Until Dubass gets that in his head this team will not
win. The regular season and the playoffs are two different seasons.
Look at the past couple of Stanley cup winners the last few years.
Boston, St.Louis to name a few have all seven.
This fan base has no patience. Dubas has only been on the job for 2 seasons. A GM is usually given 4-5 years to carry out their vision. Yes the team regressed a bit this year. There are a few factors for it. Many injuries including half our D core, Babcock losing the room/ wrong decision making and strategies and this team lost depth due to the cap.I'm surprised Shanahan is letting Dubass ride this

He's not a Leaf fan. He's a drive-by type getting his thrills out of responses. This fan base has no patience. Dubas has only been on the job for 2 seasons. Dubas deserves a little bit of criticism for the cap issues but not as much as many on here make it out to be. Tavares, one of the best centers in the league fell into our lap and we had 3 star players all coming off great ELC seasons all up for contract around the same time. We were bound to run into cap trouble.
As far as Dubas' vision for this team. The league is becoming faster and more skilled. That is what is Dubas is building here. The big Lucic types are fizzling out of the league because they can't keep up, dont have the skill or the IQ to play with the amount of speed and talent in the league. Yes you need some size and grit to compliment these players but again Dubas has only been on the job for 2 seasons and has shown that he is trying to add these complimentary pieces as he goes. Despite what the anti Dubas crowd on here keeps spewing he has been adding size. Clifford, Muzzin, Mikheyev, Engvall, Spezza are all guy guys with size on the big club and on the Marlies/Growlers he has added quite a bit of size and grit there with Brazeau, Elynuik, Gaudet, Archibald, Wilson, Clune, Rubins, Agostino and Korshkov to name a few.
People are forgetting that this team is still very young as there's is like 12 or so players that are 25 and under. This team is still learning what it takes to win. Look how many years it took the Caps to win. Our cup window is not closing as our star players are all locked up for several more years and Dubas and the scouting staff appears to be very good talent evaluators who can replace the depth pieces like Johnsson or Kerfoot either at the draft or FA. Dubas and Shanny's vision for this team is still looking very promising and this team will continue to grow and the management will continue to tinker with the lineup to get this team to where it needs to be. We as fans just need to be patient and stay the course.
This what I have visioned for the team next season.
Hyman Matthews Marner
Mikheyev Tavares Nylander
Engvall Grigorenko Kapanen
Clifford(type) Spezza Korshkov
Rielly Hamonic
Muzzin Dermott
Sandin Gudas/ Liljegren
That's a pretty good mix of skill, size and grit.
Can you give a few examples of what these bosses would “say” to him as it applies to the team on the ice?Shanahan has bosses just like all bosses have bosses
so he has to report to his bosses and do as his bosses say
he has "a" say, but not 'the' say
'the' say will come from those above him, so he can only do as much as he is allowed to do
that's life in the working world, thought you knew that
Can you give a few examples of what these bosses would “say” to him as it applies to the team on the ice?
What stupid or video to please the left? Who are the left?Age changes men. As soon as shanny let out that stupid pr video last year to please the left I knew he was a lost cause. Nothing more than a corporate shill
Why would he need a replacement GM. Is also running another sport.Where the **** is Shanahan?!
Is he scrambling to get a replacement GM in place by April/May?
He is MIA in the worst way and I can't imagine why he would be so absent at such a crucial period of the season.
The company hired him to do the job, so of course they allow it. Dubas is the GM with the same autonomy granted to a 75 year old GM.Kyle has to run everything by Shanahan. You think this company allows a 33-year old rookie to steer a multi-billion dollar franchise's hockey operations?
Shanahan has everything to do with this as does Dubas.
Anyone here really believe Dubas can pull the trigger on a massive trade without approval from above? get real. He can come up with the ideas, but he has bosses too. And those bosses have to approve the transaction just like the lower bosses at your work have to have approval from the upper bosses when making a deal.
Shanahan is in the shadows, that's a luxury of his job. But he's even more responsible for this failed excursion than Dubas is.
The same as any other year, they'll take time in the off-season to figure out what they gotta do to make the team better. And round goes the cycle, year after year, decade after decade.
I guess Brendan Shanahan has wildly oversteered from the callous Chad type he was in his younger years. That tired joke about "someone has pictures" has some truth in it. People at the very least know their current career could be destroyed overnight with a smear campaign regarding their past selves. Whoever holds that arsenal and is ruthless enough to use it can pull strings. There's a reason that most politicians are morally compromised: it makes them controllable. Surely some will understand what I'm saying.
Shanny is the biggest problem with this team. He's made multiple bad moves in the most critical areas. MLSE should clean house this offseason.
Lou was removed because the team didn't progress in the playoffs.
Babs was fired because the team didn't progress in the playoffs and had a bad start to the season.
Dubas has regressed and now Keefe will have overseen a regression. Why do they get to keep their jobs? Because Shanny has blinders and won't admit he made mistakes.

What the hell is happening in this thread.
