1) Mikey deserves many more votes than he has. (Nico, Mercer, Mikey) The fight, the PK, setting up Zacha to seal the game. Nico went into defensive “God” mode after Jack went down.

Even if it isn’t Serious, Hughes should sit out the Caps game, maybe the Sabers to give him a week. My first choice for call-up is Chase DeLeo. Bump all the lines up and move Rango and Kuk down to the 4th. Don’t mess with the chemistry for the love of “insert religious deity”!!

Nico’s Line
Mercer’s Line
Mikey’s Line
4th Line

Play the hot hand.
Too hard to not include Bernier.
Guy has played very well for us.
He is so technically sound and solid. No rebounds , not flopping around trying to recover , makes difficult saves look easy .
That was a massive signing by Fitz. So far all the off season additions have performed way above expectations , even minor moves like signing Vesey .

These last two games would have been L last year. We are seeing progress, there are just a few things we need to clean up. Graves looks like a true #1 even though he made some bonehead turnoevers....I will pass it off as its only game number two.

Team looks like we are skating very well and I am happy Johnsson is making me eat my own words. However, Subban- Seigenthaler need to be off the team. Keep Colton White and Jaros!! That pairing goes flat on their stomachs every shift. Seattle didnt even have an odd man rush and Seigenthaler laid flat on the ice to try and make a poke check. I really hope its not the coaching staff that is telling them to do this. lol Also, they are on the ice for almost every goal so far this season.

Other than that , we look decent against a team that came out flying in the second and third. I think the last two games have shown everyone that this is Jacks team.

Team has me really excited

Siegenthaler's been good. Subban should not be judged heavily until he's on the 3rd pair.

Siegenthaler hasn't been too bad, but he's saddled with Subban and they're both playing above their capable roles right now.

White and Jarros suck. I feel like White is only here to remind us that Subban isn't as bad as we think he is.

It’s from the former doctor of the San Diego Chargers who makes his living evaluating injuries via video and has a massive Twitter following. He’s also incredibly accurate. So no, it’s not from an amateur doctor or speculator.

I was speaking to what we as a board are doing in general, not that particular post.

I mean, I don't really care what you guys say. If Jack was out long-term, it would be over. It completely changes our lineup down the middle and would severely affect our offense. It's not like our defense is solid enough to overcome that.

If you didn't have playoff aspirations (like you said you didn't), then idk why it'd even matter for you to comment about it.

I commented on it because of your "sky is falling" statement after ONE FRIGGIN' GAME!

I wouldn't say it was a full house, but there was still quite a sizable crowd last night (for a Tuesday) maybe 85+% capacity? New expansion team 1st game, everyone wants a look. Looks like the momentum of the off season is still going and with the wins, I expect the fans will ride out this homestand with a lot of energy. Small amount of Kraken fans. A woman was wearing a Devils hat and a Kraken sweater or something.

Also hard to pick top 3 players from yesterday, no one overpowered the game, but all were pretty good. Of the defense, I liked Sevs, Siege, and Graves game. Hamilton again got pick-pocketed on PP in the D zone (2 for 2 games). Otherwise, Dougie is playing really really well so no complaints outside of i hope they button up the PP overall (not just him). Siege's hit looked good, shoulder impact. Glad to see him throw em down. I hope Siege keeps it up, he's looked better player these 2 games than what we saw last season.

Of the forwards.... hmmm this was a tough one:
-McLeod was very noticeable throughout his shifts.
-DIdn't notice Studenic at all. Was he even playing lol? Edit; Haha, he wasn't. Makes sense! I guess Geersten got his spot.
-The Tatar pass was really nice as was Mercer's finish.. Tatar seems less noticable in arena, not sure if that same impression was felt from TV feed, or its just me not paying attention to 90.
-Crowd went wild with the Nico non-goal.... as it seemed we had opened the lid in the game. Shame it didn't count, that was nice setup to him as well.
-For a split second, I thought Zacha hit the crossbar because that thing picked a damn corner for an EN goal, lol. And the dude has no celebration.
-I guess Vesey had a reasonable game, given the goal, and I think he had another really solid chance.

-Hoping Bratter breaks out soon, he's been awfully quiet, along with Rango....... although Rango had 1 or 2 opportunities last night....

Hughes hit was in my corner , but I didn't see how impact was. THought he hit his chin on the rim, or was knocked out because he didn't get up. In arena replay showed shoulder and then head impact on ice. Looking at the twitter clips on the forum and vids with him walk down tunnel, my hope is it is not as serious as he had some (maybe limited) mobility in the arm/shoulder. Let's hope a game or two or three maximum.

Bratt came soo very close at one point to getting his first goal of the season, too...

He was trying everything he could.

Rango was actually less noticeable than Bratt. I don't know what it is but hopefully he gets it going as well.

I think Rango scores sooner than Bratt does...the only question is : WHEN?

I think he said it was just a one-time thing and that @JK3 was doing the next one.

They need to fine Subban every time he winds his stick at more than 45 degrees.

12 skaters out of 18 had a least a point last night - Only 4 forwards didn't have a point last night - Jesper Bratt, Mason Geertsen, Janne Kuokkanen and Yegor Sharangovich

No clue what's up with Yegor and Janne. They must be out drinking late at night. They dominated all preseason only to look completely invisible once the season started.

Bratt is definitely creating. He started Dougie's goal and lost an assist by a tenth of a second.

Shara's wife just has to remind him to score.

No. We’re commenting on pro football doc who said it’s likely a sprained AC joint and hope no clavicle fracture. The team hasn’t (and 99% chance won’t ever) disclose exactly what the injury is.
I'm not taking Lindy's comment last night at face value, but it does make me breathe a little easier on the possibility of a broken collarbone. I have a hard time seeing an obvious diagnosis like that requiring further evaluation today and there wouldn't be much point in downplaying it during the post-game press conference. If it is a separated shoulder we're probably talking a couple weeks rather than a couple months.

I think there's your answer. The competition is a little tougher now. It's way easier to look good against guys who don't make the team out of camp.

Sharangovich and Kuokkanen will need to raise their game. It's still early in the season though, they likely have time to pick it up.

It would have been genuinely impressive if Geertsen managed to get on the board with negative minutes of ice time.

Another doc concurring with ProFootballDoc on the separated shoulder speculation. In the replies he said you can probably rule out the clavicle fracture based on Lindy's post-game comments.

Bratt is nearing a breakout... Didn't want to imply he's invisible, I meant more, he needs to wake up on the scoresheet soon. He's part of the whole good vibes going with the Friends line. :)

Have stepped on the ice plenty of times and I promise you that having Geersten on the ice is not a deterrent at all. He really can’t hurt you that much. Even if you drop the gloves it’s pretty easy to come out without taking many if any punches if you really don’t want to. Suspensions are a much bigger deterrent for dirty hits.

However, that was a clean hit anyways and Jack is gonna get hit whether Geersten is in the lineup or not. He has well done pretty well for two seasons so far and will learn more and more as he goes how to protect himself and not get hurt. It’s part of the game though and will happen again.

The other reality too is that the other player doesn’t really have to fight him. Usually other players expect you too when it’s a dirty hit but there really wasn’t anything wrong with that hit. Lauzon is a guy that’s trying to stay in an NHL lineup and that’s part of how he’s gonna stay in so he’ll take that everytime. If it’s a better player I doubt he’s gonna waste his time or sit in the penalty box for 5 minutes fighting a plug like Geersten over a clean hit.

Are you like 6'4" 220 or something? Playing against teams with a guy like geersten scared the piss out of me, quite honestly. I definitely knocked off whatever Claude Lemieuxish BS I would employ at the time, and wouldn't follow pucks into the corner quite as readily. Given: much lower league and different era...

So I see alot of "that doesn't work" posts and absolutely no suggestions on what we should do to keep Hughes, bratt, smith, Nico et al in the lineup instead of the morgue.

It certainly is an ongoing problem we have that will only really get worse as the stakes get higher.

Im glad we added graves, siegs, Dougie, as all of that will help...but?
