I would usually fault him more for this game but they couldn’t generate an even strength scoring chance against the Vernon Vikings tonight.

eh would you? your fault level seems about right. just waiting until its passed on to the next mediocre goalie in a failed system.

Hynes seriously is a horrible coach. Top 3 wrst in the league. How the f*** did he not get how they kept throwing zibanejad's line out there or try to switch up the line to shut them down? f***ing moron.

Why is Rooney playing the final minutes of a game? Hynes is turning into DeBoer and Oates with this try-hard love. You saw it with his usage of Bastian in that game he played because he beat somebody up. DeBoer used to do the same with Pete Harrold and Sestito. I liked Petey as a coach. He’s better than JHC but he got the best of himself with his love of try-hard’s like Harrold, Gionta and Sestito. You used to see them out there on critical ST shifts and in the twilight or games.

Is this an admission from you that KK is mediocre? If so then this is a very important and commendable early step in your intervention!:sarcasm:

I really want to know why these idiots didnt play Blackwood over Kinkaid. Not blaming Kinkaid for this loss, but Im asking that more because Schneider can only play 2 more games in the AHL. And unless they are scratching Schneider when he's done, and or trading Kinkaid, why not go with the possible future in a throw away season?

Developmental coach my ****ing ass.

Did you ask about this when they won on Monday, with Kinkaid in net or no?

25+ other devils in the org can play the boards better and forecheck tho. i get hes gifted offensively but hes severely defecient in other areas.

So you want to trade him (Bratt) then?

After all, 25+ other devils in the org can play the boards 'better' and 'forecheck'. o_O

i think its up to the players to decide what they think defense is

I see players chasing guys around the zone but then there's like 2 or 3 guys wide open. It's like some of the players are playing man-to-man and some aren't lol.

but that second goal was a massive defensive breakdown on a PK and people are still blaming the goalie. just a microcosm of this forum. and im not saying our PK was **** but that was a **** play.
After seeing that again, I really wouldn't nail that goal as stoppable. It didn't look as bad on a second replay as it did on the first replay. I didn't think it looked bad at all going in live, then I thought it kind of did on the replay, but the second replay is one where I could say I wouldn't have nailed him on it. I do think the third goal was probably the softest I've seen a Devils goalie allow since the last time we saw Schneider play though, but I think it's really nitpicky to fault him on that second goal.

Hynes coached this game like he knows his job is safe. It was pretty hilariously bad.

Rooney out there late. This reminded me of when he made a bunch of really dumb lineup decisions a few times in 16-17 and I don't question his lineup decisions or talent evaluation much, but tonight was really bad.

And this was one of these terribly low-even games from his first several years. I'm not gonna say it's a new thing (or a new-old thing) because it hasn't become a trend yet, but it was scary to watch. I've always been skeptical of Hynes system when we've had leads, we seem to sit back more than most teams typically do.

We even did it against Pittsburgh the other night and there were too many anxious moments at 3-1, before we got that fourth goal. But it's understandable against Pittsburgh, not against this Rangers team. It's pretty scary when it happens against them.

I know the loss is better for the team in the long run, but damn do I hate seeing them loose to lundpads.
It doesn’t matter to me anymore. Marty got the best of him in a playoff round during the best year of his career. That was one of the 3 legitimate chances he probably had at a cup during his career. I don’t champion that series win like many NJD fans do or equate it with a cup win. It actually ticked me to see Marty himself make a comment about how that was like a cup win for many of our fans. But it did cleanse the negativity of mostly getting owned by him for 5 or 6 years before that.

Rooney had a really good game. Just missed on that chance late. Great save by Hemroid.

See my above post, Rooney played really well. And he had a great chance late.

Yet people are bitching about it. I can't figure.

I think the guy sucks. For a player of very limited ability then I guess we can say he had a good game. But it’s clear he’s not an NHL level talent. He reminds me of Rod Pelley. Another player who many in the NJD fanbase didn’t think was really that bad but he really was very bad.

If we are talking about tonights game, then he had some really good chances, if we are talking about the shift late in the game he had a great chance. Got robbed.

There is no criticism of Hynes to be had on this point.

The team that deserved to win, won.

You can't continue to get pinned in constantly and fail to get pucks out of your zone and win very often.

Our scab all star Palms was a no show again too.

I'm looking forward to the days where Kink is with another organization too.

Big picture this loss is meaningless and possibly helpful but they were not smart enough to win tonight.

Okay, so he had a good game? He still sucks. He's not an NHL player.

Why do we always have to have credit a bad player whenever they have a good game?

I guess this was a good game for him, since you gotta place the bar for a player like him really low.

Travis was great against Pitts but so physically weak tonight.

BC had an off game too.

Not too many forwards played well.

That 4th goal allowed shift was absolutely weak

not at all. i just want bratt to fly all the time. hes not going to be exceptional in those areas of the game so i want the creativity/skill to always be on display. might be a system thing to.
