You're going to seriously point to Schneider when Kinkaid has played nearly 40 games with a sub-.900 sv%?

Listen, the team is terrible, but Kinkaid has been trash all year.
Schneider is a .903% goalie over the last 100 games (including the excellent playoff series last year), but that was before I counted any of his last two games. Any jump the Islanders gave him was probably negated with yesterday's game.

I'm not a huge Kinkaid fan, by the way, I haven't defended him much this year.

I think his struggles this year are very likely due to the fact that he's had to play so many games and he's really not a goalie you want playing this many games. At least not two years in a row.

He performs well as a backup more years than he doesn't, but one of the main reasons he's had to play so much this year was because he was the only serviceable goalie on the roster until a week before Christmas. Part of that is because Cory wasn't even cleared to play until around Halloween, the other part of it is that he was unplayable from his return until he got injured again. I don't think we were giving Lack a start anyway in October, where Kinkaid was still playing pretty well. He seemed to start dropping off around the second week of December, which is when he (if I had to guess) had appeared in probably 80% or more of the games we had played to that point in the season.

nah he hasnt. cory has been terrible all year. kinkaid has had a streak similar to blackwood and has had as many strong performances although in more games. has played the leagues best. hes been below average but no where near as bad as your making him out to be.

Seriously, can someone check if Kinkaid is carrying a Cory voodoo doll in his locker.

The team wins for Keith and shits the bed when Cory is in net. Something is up.

Problem is we were singing the same song when Brodeur was here. Team wins for Brodeuer...save percentage bro...

I wouldn't really say they played very well today. The biggest difference between yesterday and today was that at least we had a 2 goal lead early and scored 3 overall, whereas we only scored 3 goals in our last 2 games with Cory.

I thought the players that are good actually played well today, there's just too many scrubs and trash strewn about the lineup. Yesterday, that wasn't the case. I don't even know if 3 guys played well.

I've always thought it's impossible to get a tentative player to play aggressively. I have been pleasantly surprised by Zacha's game for the past few weeks.

Also, that no-look pass from Bratt was just crazy beautiful.

Finally, I was curious about Ryan Murphy's profile in his draft year:
Hockey's Future - Ryan Murphy
You could see why he was drafted so highly...

I wouldn't mind seeing more of RM play.

Does blackwood also have that voodoo doll?... heck did wedge have that doll for a short stint.

Cory's biggest issue is his mind, more specifically confidence level. Hes around 0 for 20 in the reg season, in a span lasting over a full year. Idc who you are, that's going to take a toll on you

I wish that was his only issue. Before his most recent rehab stint he looked very slow moving laterally.

Mojo increasing his trade value today. Glad to see Bratt turning it around.

That said, I'm honestly quite conflicted looking at the game now that it's over. I'm always in 100% fan mode during the game, but 2 points is really detrimental at this point.

I'm beyond caring right now as the Draft is a long ways off.

Wherever we end up drafting is where we will be drafting.

no sense in agonizing what spot we're in at this point.

I am just glad I finally live in a world where Zacha has double digit goals.

Maybe the JJ comparisons can end?
I was extremely disappointed with him to start the season, but he was always A LOT better than Josefson.

Last year I would regularly update how many points he had through his career games and compare that to what career game number (and age) Josefson achieved that in.

And what do you know? Zacha actually surpassed Josefson in career points in the Kings game. Josefson had 60 points in 276 games as a Devil and 64 points in 315 career NHL games.

Zacha now has 66 points in 190 games.

Josefson had 1 playoff point in 6 games, so in 321 career NHL games, regular season and playoffs combined, he scored 65 points. Zacha now has 66 points in 195 combined games, regular season and playoffs.

Dont get me wrong, they're are other issues, but confidence/mental game is his biggest worry. (That's 75% of a goalies game).
He will never be as fast going side to side, it's hard to regain that motion 100% when you have groin issues combined with a bad back
