Mcleod is player 1:

McLeod and EM originally go to the room as consensual. McLeod text the others to come and take part(one charge). McLeod and the other take part in the non consensual part(second charge)

Sounds like McLeod may* have orchestrated the incident and or was the one reaching out afterwards

Lovely.

Completely awful, but I don’t think the other individuals involved behaved much better based on the account.

If it’s true that this is not going to trial until 2026 I’m just really looking forward to July 1 when we can not give him a QA and be done with the association completely.

He is not Player 1. Not likely. He maybe did something else though.

Also, technically Player 1 can defend himself super simple: Girl wants to go with me to the room. I go. Nothing illegal happens. I call my friends to the room, because the girl wants it. Nothing illegal just yet. It's not a simple case, and we don't know the details. So far there was only 1 real investigation and it was done by Henein Hutchison LLP. Both H.H. LLP, Civil Law Firm for E.P. and cops worked together and fooled everyone. Those 5 names were known in 2018 to Henein Hutchison. Parliament of Canada has transcript (online) from the meeting with H.H. and tons of info is there. It's pretty clear they all worked together. They wanted Civil case to run first and collect, and go to Criminal after. That most likely fooled everyone thinking this was gonna go away.
Fairly confident that if he WASN'T player 1 he wouldn't be the ONLY player with an additional charge. What a piece of garbage,he'll never play in the NHL again.

I love it when people’s entire understanding of intimacy is based on porn.

This is not illegal though. Chances are he is charged for cover up.
Bruh, I am going to make this as simple as possible

If he was charged for the cover up there would only be one charge. You can’t get charged twice for the same crime. The fact that he is charged with two counts means he took part in it and either A. Texted to players to come over where the assault continued or B. Texted her after the assault and coerced her into dropping the charges

“A person who assists, supports, or encourages, another person to engage in criminal conduct is just as culpable, and may be similarly punished, as the person who actually commits the criminal conduct”

So he likely sent out the text that turned the wheel in motion, this being guilty of the above.

Yes, and either one makes him equally an even bigger shitty human being the just the one charge

You know, as a rather ugly fella who somehow did OK with the ladies when I was younger I never once thought to call my friends to my room when I was with a girl. Absolutely disgusting and throw the book at the lot of them.

The urge to jump to his defense is so weird. It would never even occur to me to treat another person in such a cruel and degrading way. He also seems to have zero remorse or concern for the victim and is only concerned with protecting himself.

If it was all consensual it wouldn't have been an issue, whatever floats your boat if everyone's happy and agrees to it.

It's only disgusting because it certainly doesn't appear to have been consensual.

Sadly I'm not surprised Mike was this involved in it. When he never released a statement and just said he couldn't talk about it when this story originally broke it raised a lot of eyebrows around here so I'm more disappointed he's actually this involved than surprised.

If McLeod is player 1 then there's no excuse for re-signing him really. He must have been known through the whisper network as being heavily involved at the time, and Fitz was just hoping it wouldn't ever blow up in his face. Signing Foote is the cherry on top to make him look sociopathic frankly.

IDK I have a feeling this whole story is going to make me very disillusioned with the front office as more details come out. The only details we've ever gotten really (right?) is stuff that the players' defense attorneys leaked because they thought it made their client look GOOD and it is disgusting stuff at best

The footage, which was shown to reporters by lawyers representing some of the players

The stuff the prosecution presents is probably going to be explosive. Just kind of disgusted by it right now and it hasn't even really started.

I honestly don't think Fitz knew anything beyond what we knew.

None of them should play here again.

I wish the KHL would ban them too, but they won’t.

Maybe someone will take it upon themselves to perform some retribution on the ice over there. Another former Devil still seems to be skating around unscathed over there though.
