And then there was a Subban slewfoot in there too?

I mean I'm getting the impression that we played well, but it was just one of those games and we are god awful in the shootout (nothing new).

How did Reid look? Happy he got an assist already. And look at Ryder coming back from space! Loki too!

Assume Brunner is still lost in space?

Reid really looked like he knew what he was doing out there.

Sure he had some rookie-butterflies early on but as the game went on, he seemed very comfortable with what he was doing on the ice. You'd never know it was his first game with the way he played.

Brunner? Let's just say that Cam Janssen looked better. 'nuff said.

Still can't believe Pete did not put Ryder in the first 3 shooters of the shutout...err, I mean shootout. RIDE THE FRIGGIN' HOT HAND, PETE!! *sigh*

The second goal from the Canadiens I believe was after a turnover by Gelinas. It came late in a PK which was a very good kill for the most part. Brunner got the penalty, and he was out of the box for maybe 15-20 seconds or so before the goal. We just couldn't get it out even after it went back to even strength. I think Gelly's turnover caused them to set up and we were unable to clear. Kinda like the Zidlicky turnover in the first Montreal game. You may as well still be on the PK when space junk floating nose Brunner is the guy that you're getting coming out of the box.

There was one other kill earlier in the game where we looked really good, but got pinned in late in the PK. It had to have been about 30 ro 40 seconds back at even strength before Cory could cover the puck and get a whistle.

So long story short, one of those games, some stuff didn't go our way. We suck in the shootout. Take the point and move on and keep riding the Reid train?

Yes keep riding the Reid train. I would say this was a solid debut. Some people are gonna say Tedenby and Josefson never get any chances, but when they do they didn't impress like Boosh did tonight.

This game should also get Loktionov off the 4th line for the next game. He had a 2 point night.

It really looked like another shutout going into the 3rd, and we exploded for 3 goals. I would have much rather have went to the shootout 2-2 rather than 3-3 after the game winning tease from Patty after a brutal PK Subban turnover.

We did score 3 goals without even getting any points from the Jagr line, so it wasn't all bad.

Most nights we aren't going to give up three and if we can start getting steady production from Ryder and Loki and the rest of the Misfit toys that is a good thing.

Still not showing up for the early periods though.

DeBoer really is clueless

he gave Boucher 4 shifts in the 2nd, with only 2 in the last 16 plus minutes
Sestito and Janssen each received more

he replaced Gelinas with Fayne to pair with Merrill for a N zone faceoff with 10 seconds left on a Montreal PP
sure enough Fayne cant quite reach a soft dump into the zone and it leads to Montreal possession that scores the 2nd goal. Gelinas easily gets that puck, and it was clear Fayne and Merrill werent on the same page

He skated Greene for 4:54 of the final 7:28 of the 3rd, Greene looked gassed going back for the dump in that led to the tying goal, Fayne had a bad game and he gets put out in that spot

Playing Gelinas with Zidlicky is dumb at even strength unless you are desperate for a goal.

Gelinas will never be 1st out on the powerplay

Zajac doesnt take the o zone faceoff on the 1st powerplay, he's on the point, and of course we lose the draw

DeBoer constantly does ridiculous things with his personnel in every game

The Gelinas turnover must have during the Jagr penalty. We were pinned in for about 40 seconds after the PP ended, and Cory somehow got a whistle.

Merrill looked shaky, but with so little pro experience he's bound to have some of those games

Boucher was very impressive, played a direct role in setting up Loktionov's goal besides the assist and the shootout goal
he seems to have that natural offensive instinct and vision that can't be taught

Brunner should definitely be on the 4th line next game, especially if Cam and Sestito are back in. Let Sestito center the 4th line. The line would already be useless with them to begin with. Put the other useless guy with them.

I think it's time to trade Brunmer for whatever we can get. It's gotta happen before his value plummets any further. He is just horrible out there and I don't see it changing. It's not a slump...he looks like he belongs in the minors it's so bad.

As TG said in his tweet, I'd have gone with Ryder if only to ride his hot hand. We finally have his shot going for us, yet opt not to use it in a situation we've absolutely blown in all season.

Ryder had a 'hot hand' earlier in the year too when he had god-awful shootout attempts. Everyone has incredibly short memories. I'm sure he had a hot hand at other times in his career while he was going 6-39.

What value could he possibly have? Nobody wanted him in the offseason for free.

Henrique is one of the worst shootout players I've ever seen. 1 for 7 in the shootout, 0 for 1 on in game penalty shots. Might even be 1 for 8 in the shootout.

Last time I brought that up I got ''Well it's a small sample size cause if he got another goal, he would be 2 for 8 which is 25%''.

Yeah he still sucks in the shootout. Brunner does too, but we constantly see videos of his 2 last year. The only 2 he's scored on 9 tries.

Henrique was even 0-3 in the AHL last year lol

Just to offer some perspective on the blown lead topic. Detroit scored first in their game against Philly and had a 3-2 lead going into the third; lost 6-3. Phoenix scored the first goal against Calgary but lost 4-1. On Tuesday night there were 3 other games where the team that scored first lost. Islanders and Panthers both blew a 2-0 lead and lost. Anaheim had leads of 1-0 and 2-1 before losing. Dallas blew a 3-0 lead but still managed to win 4-3.

It's fairly commonplace now.

Sestito has no place on this team. Yet Pete puts him on a line with mother****ing JANSSEN. But the likes of Josefson and Tedenby get scratched in their favor.

You honestly can't make this crap up.

I just don't see this team making the playoffs if they continue to out-play teams and lose. I think we only stole a game or two at the most, LA was one. I don't care if Patty fell or was was tripped, Henrique has to get the puck out of the zone from the half boards with 30 seconds left, he should have known the a 6th skater was on his way and unfortunately Cory has his worse game of the season. The second goal was on him as well as the second shoot-out goal. Boucher was a nice addition, however, Lou still has to add another scorer. And no more Travis in shoot-outs for him and when well they realize that Brunner is a bust. They say he's a goal scorer, well he can't even do that right, he had a wide open net and missed on the back- hand. Rather have Josefson in the lineup.

Damien Brunner must end soon and Clowe needs to heal.

I like that Boucher is up and played nice.

It's time for a voltron trade for josefson, tedenby and brunner to florida for mattias and fleischmann or upshall.

If the conference wasn't so bad and 50 plus games too go, I think it's too early for that diagnosis. The fact they are outworking teams means they will steal a few like in la/Anaheim. If I didn't see greenshots from the emergence from points from the backline as well as new players being integrated, I would have your same fuzzy feeling.

What does this even mean?

By "hot hand," I'm talking about his two snipes in the last two games. He hasn't had two goals in as many games yet this year, so I'm not sure what you mean by his "hot hand earlier in the year." I'd be more comfortable putting that out there than, say, Zajac.

no small coincidence Ryder's 2 game scoring "streak" comes against his former team, and a goalie he is familiar with shooting against?

I think not.

We need to get a hypnotist to put him under and make him think he's played for every team in the Metro division.

Except these teams in our division have gotten their act together.
