Gosh how much I missed Devils hockey. Alberts didnt really do it for me, I really missed Cangi. I know some people dont think he's not that great, but I absolutely love the guys enthusiasim, he seems like a total goof. I understand you were spoiled due to Doc, but Cangi is one of the better PBP guys in the league and I hope he beats the shit out of covid.

One aspect of this team that I love is that we rarely get outworked. I guess its not a surprise since we have a lot of young guys wanting to make a mark for themselves and also new coach to impress.

I would run this when everyone is back:

Johnsson - Hughes - Palms/Bratt
Gusev - Nico - Palms/Bratt
Zacha - Zajac - Kuokkanen
Wood - Mikey - Bastian
Shara/Merkley/Maltsev

Shara would be the odd man out unless Ruff has the balls to sit someone like Palms or Gusev if they dont pick it up soon. Zajac might not be back soon, but when he is he should be a lock. Kuokkanen has been good. Wolfpack stays. But we have a lot of games coming in short bursts, so I could see guys like Kuokkanen, Merkley, Shara, Maltsev rotating just to have fresh legs all the time.

Smith - Severson
Murray - PK
Kulikov - Vatanen
Butcher/Tennyson/Carrick
Edit: Forgot Kulikov, he's been a beast. Bye bye Butcher.

Also, with 3 points Kuokkanen left Jukka Porvari and Ilkka Pikkarainen in the dust and now has sole possession of 7th place in Devils all time scoring list among Finns. He has his eyes on Reijo Ruotsalainen next, who he trails by just one point. :sarcasm:
Sure we won but nobody SCAAARED.

I miss Cangi too but I wasn't too disappointed to have Kenny Albert do the PbP.

He did a fine job subbing for Cangi anyway.

And if Cangi isn't back by Thursday, we might have him back for an encore.

Yeah I'm not saying I dont or didnt like him or he did a bad job especially given the circumstances, its just that I have a preference and that happens to be Cangi. I assume its gonna be couple games with Alberts and its gonna be just fine.

I watch most stuff on my PS5/4 app and the service I pay for NHL usually has home feed by default and the only way to change the feed is to be on PC. I tried to watch couple games with other feeds out of pure lazyness, but nowadays I just have to hook up my PC to TV for away games, cause Devils feed adds so much to my viewing experience personally. We have a great TV crew in my opinion.

Not enough Severson.

He's certainly been underrepresented (I've voted for him at least 2-3 times). Feels like Murray and Kulikov should also at least be on the board as well, but it's tough for defensemen to crack the top 3 immediately after a game (before anyone can dig into how well they may have played) without putting up some points.

I mean, them missing Panarin and Miller certainly helped us. Let's not get carried away just yet.
and Chytil, who looked as good as any of their forwards before he went down. But they put up a very poor effort last night too (compared to their focus and fight against Boston last weekend or last week) and that’s on Quinn to some degree. And when we got the go ahead in the 3d, they more or less quit too. Certainly after Merkley’s goal.

I agree with this completely, Steve is very good and gets a lot of unnecessary shit from the fan base simply because he's not Doc.

That being said, I also thought Kenny Albert did great last night.

Kenny Albert is too neutral for a home broadcast.

You need those over the top calls by Cangi.
Yea, I thought Kenny Albert did a great job filling in, but he's no Cangi. We scored 5 goals against the Rangers and did not get an over the top "scaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrsssssssss!!!!".

Albert was fine.

What I want to know is how someone doesn't have an intervention with Rosen. How many times in a single game can you call Blackwood Blackwell? It was infuriating.

Unfortunately you're both correct.

We had the best goal song in the business and whoever the guy is that has an infatuation with nu metal and the great adventure techno guy needs to go to a trade school and come back to the rock performing a better service.

Ready, fight!
