Curious to see what the Devils plan to do with Palmieri.

There was no chance he was traded before his military ball, but I would not be surprised to see him traded tomorrow or Monday

The more I watch Hughes the more I think this kid is extremely overrated. There is not a single PRACTICAL thing about him. His style of hockey raised doubts before the draft, and now I can see it clearly. He is very dynamic when he gets the puck, but absolutely nothing comes out of that, as his not thought through pass decisions undo the dynamic jumps. His pass decisions are simply too quick and not smart. I'm not sure that can be improved at all. That's his style. Whirlwind type of hockey.

I can't find a single thing he is good at. As of now he is 12th in assists on the Devils. That is too low for a Center. Goose has more than twice the assists than him without any kind of dynamic skating. I'm afraid his ceiling is 2nd line center on a good day. Maybe 3rd actually. His stats will improve in 2 years, but it won't be what people think. I just don't see it.

On the other hand Zacha is in third for assists on the Devils. He is our second line center. He is simply under developed and probably misused. He is better than Hughes. Weird, but the more I watch Hughes, the less I like him. I'm sure you will disagree, but there is something about him not adding up, even though he looks super dynamic when watching live.

You cannot teach the vision or talent that Hughes has.

Just wait till he adapts to the NHL and develops chemistry with his teammates. That type of talent can singlehandedly change a game with a pass or play that nobody else would have made.

Is there somewhere on HFBoards I can post about my NHL bets for the night?

I don't see teams offering enough, it will have to be more than Coleman got. Maybe at the draft in a hockey trade but I doubt he goes anywhere before then

I would be surprised to see Palmieri moved. There's two pieces of evidence in favor of him staying - he played today, and that he has an A - and not a whole lot in favor of his moving.

Anyone notice the new slogan/campaign theme for next season? “The Black and Red” with with a silhouette of New Jersey behind it. Eons better than this we are the ones nonsense.

"We are the Ones" who are "The Black and Red" that play in New Jersey and denied the Washington Crapitals a victory on "Let's kiss Ovy's ass" day. :devdance:

Give him the C next season, then extend him. Hes a keeper and would be good for the young centers to have him on their wing.

Nico looks like he's about to hit on a 47 year old mother of three.

Bratt looks like he's about to lose a ton of money gambling.

Vats either looks like he's trying to hold something in, or trying to convince himself that he is actually not standing still and stiff, but instead moving so fast in place that the cameraman can't see him

I'm disappointed that one of them didn't wear a Canadian Tuxedo.

Unless they have an offer they like lined up I think they would play him. If they scratched him that signals that they'd move him to the highest bidder no matter what the bid was and I don't think that's the case. From Friedman it seems like they'll only move him if it's an offer that really wows them. They also played Simmonds and it seems like they'd like to move him.

Yeah, palms is sticking around. Will just go to the highest bidder next year unless we sign him to an extension.

I'm disappointed, but I understand why others wouldn't be.
