So, Detroit has potentially 2 top 20 picks and 5 picks in the first 41 in a nice deep draft. That's enough ammo to pick up a nice roster player or take 5 shots for the future.

By dumping Hronek and Bertuzzi and not replacing him he has made a good attempt at sinking the team into a top-10 pick while still being able to reload and try again next year.

When Yzerman burns things down he certainly does it right. It sucks to see the rebuild possibly extend but it's certainly being done in a more skillful way than the previous management.

I will never defend Ken Holland's actions, but there is a massive difference in the quality of the yard sale goods. Yzerman was out there shopping a couple lightly used crate and barrel sectionals. Holland was trying to peddle broken ikea furniture from his son's first apartment..
