I'm here!
I like Yandle but I think he would get a great return and I think Rundblad can fill his spot. But I don't know about Kadri..havn't heard anything that great about him outside of leafs nation. Is Kadri = Boedker in skill?
Rundblad
No shortage of players who have offensive capability in our system. Even more if we add Gardiner.
Please, he CERTAINLY hasn't shown he could even come close to replacing Yandle. Unless you believe the folklore?

That and I watch him play. He's not at the same level today but has higher upside than Yandle. I've made numerous posts on matter over last couple seasons.
That's why only fools make trades based on small sample sizes.
Seems like a stretch to me. Keith Yandle had a 40 point season at Rundblad's current age. I'm not gonna outright call Rundblad a bust but I don't think his ceiling is higher than Yandle's at all. Rundblad could replace Yandle, but the hope in such a decision for me would be cheaper and almost as good.
I like Yandle. I just wonder if the assets we would receive in return would be better going forward.
No secret I'm a believer in Rundblad. I've long maintained he is one of the most skilled players in the organization. He just can't co-exist in same lineup with Yandle. One has to go. To move Rundblad would be to sell low. Moving Yandle would be to sell high.
And there you have it. Nobody seems to want him. Third team now and not much value. Why is that?
Rundblad was dealt bc of dev time required to get def game up to speed. Of course Yandle's -18 isn't exactly setting a high standard for him to beat.
His offensive game sure hasn't shown much either.
I'm on board with HBK on this. I'm not outright saying, "TRADE YANDLE TOMORROW!" but at the same time it would be interesting to see what kind of return he could yield and if it would make the team better in the long term. If you keep him off the table entirely you won't hear what kind of offers he may get. If you throw it out there that he could be available for the right price you might just hear that right price or better.
SEL MVP, AHL all-star. Not awards he received because of strength of defensive game.
Correct, trouble is he's done NOTHING at the NHL level and to think three teams have passed due to impatience with development is ludicrous.

No. Considering he's still young, you look at what he's done over the past 4-5 years when you make a decision to trade him and what his value should be, not a few months here and there (good or bad).Couldn't it also be argued that Yandle's best games this year have been a small sample size?
He's had a handful of really good games, a handful of really bad, and a whole lot of average games.
Anyone thinking he could just step in and replace Yandle without missing a beat is being foolish IMO.

I know many people think Rundblad projects to be Yandle one day but man I don't know, his skating looks very awkward to me. Like most offensive dmen Yandle is a gambler but his skating bails him out of trouble a lot. I can see Rundblad being similar in the gambling aspect but he doesn't have the skating to save him self. I worry that Rundblad is more of a PP specialist and that's it. Even if that's not the case and Rundblad does develop to Yandle's level, I still think best case scenario he might be there in a couple of years. Anyone thinking he could just step in and replace Yandle without missing a beat is being foolish IMO.
XX summed it up nicely.
It won't be seamless but this organization is better suited to replace the departure of Yandle than it has at providing a legitimate top6 forward group. Heck, if Gardiner is in a package I can envision Maloney dealing them both (separate deals).
In our prospect pool, only Domi sticks out as someone who can play in our top 6 (protected role). Samuellson looks better suited to 3rd line. Gaudet is an ideal 3rd line C. Brown is a 3rd liner. Lessio's skating is top 6 but his hands are?
The question is does this franchise consider Yandlle to be a core player. If we do we keep him.
