It was good to see Folin bounce back after a rough first game. Small sample size but maybe there might be something there with Hagg.

Don't expect Folin to post a 70 Corsi on a regular basis, but since that bad first period, he looked like a real D-man, he's like a more experienced version of Hagg, good size, not afraid to use it, decent mobility, can pass out of his D-zone. Like a solid 3rd pair D-man. Doesn't offer much offensively, but right now we just want someone who doesn't imitate a turnstile back there.

He's played solidly as a backup in LA, so this isn't a shock, maybe he just needed to get acclimated.
Of course, he may be a backup b/c he's good for short stretches, then starts leaking.
We'll see.

I hear about Lappy and Knob, but what exactly is Gord Murphy's role on this coaching staff? Lappy takes the brunt of the blame for the PK, but if Murphy has a say on PK schemes, shouldn't he feel some heat as well? Being a former defensemen, does Murphy have some responsibility for team defense and helping the younger d-men along?

He coaches the defensemen primarily. You can get rid of that guy too for all I care. He’s just another dinosaur in the park.
