I don’t think anyone would be “ruining” him. Eakins made it clear to him you can’t be a one trick pony. It’s up to Sprong to adapt to being more coachable.Hope he doesn’t get ruined like yakupov.
Is there any video interview of his demotion? I'd like to see his demeanor... when watching his demotion with the Penguins you can tell that he gave up and wanted to go elsewhere. I still think he can make it and is a better prospect than Ho Sang... but I guess you can't teach grit.
This is all I've seen. Sprong seems fairly level-headed here.
He isn't waiver eligible for a month due to passing through already I believeGreat find, thanks!
Seems pretty up beat and sounds like he is fully committed to do well. I'm pretty sure he knows that he needs to come out of the gates hot so that other teams come calling to give him a shot. I'm not sure if he would pass through waivers when getting called up later in the season so hes likely going to be traded for a dman if he does do well.
Is the gulls topline now Comtois/Lundestrom/Sprong ?
One addition - it’s not 30 days after going through waivers, it’s 30 cumulative days or 10 games ON the NHL roster. He can be called up or sent down at will for 30 days from passing through waivers or he's on the active NHL roster for 10 games. After that he would have to pass through waivers again.
