Some goalscorer numbers:

Jaromir Jagr: 12G in 668min (107min in PP) = 56min/G

Michael Ryder: 9G in 565min (96min in PP) = 63min/G

Damien Brunner: 8G in 438min (63min in PP) = 55min/G

Patrik Elias: 7G in 509min (70min in PP) = 73min/G

Open space is the key for Brunner. Last night he showed he can make it for himself coming out of contact for a change.

Sounds like a guy that should do well on the PP doesn't it.

Not that I'm against the idea, but Brunner looks best on the rush, or taking a long breakout pass, where he can use his skating and stick handling while isolating a d-man entering o-zone. And you don't get a lot of that on the PP as the opposing squad will sit back and rarely allows room entering the zone.

Don't know if the set it up and pass the puck around type pp is best for him. But maybe there is still more to his game.

If he can ever get to the point where we can trust him on the PK? He could be REAL dangerous on that.

I think it took Damien some extra time to learn the system with jersey's team after all he was signed a week before the season began .

Absolutely. Not much of a training camp last year with Detroit either. He still has very little experience with the North American game in general.

I am so willing to write off that slump.

75 NHL games so almost a full season sample size

20 g, 19 a, 39 pts with 9 pts in 15 playoff games.

That's solid. I see him as a good 20-30 goal 20-25 assist guy which would be good for us.

Perhaps a little bit of this. But like he said, his confidence was very low during this long stretch, I don't think the fact he hasn't a real preseason has had a big impact on his very poor play last weeks. Just find back the confidence in my opinion and learning to play with this system as you mentioned.

I hope we ll see the real Brunner by now.

I was at the Early November concert last night... trying to figure out how Damien Brunner was in two places at once.

we've seen the two faces of Brunner now, we know what he is capable of, but we're also now aware of how low of a point he can hit, gotta be prepared.

I mean there are lookalikes that are pretty similar to each other, but this is remarkable.

Drag that schnoz out a bit and you can't tell them apart.

Early November is one of my favorites... definitely one of Jersey's best kept secrets.

At the STH BBQ, I showed a pic of Ace to Brunner and he laughed and was like holy crap that's me!
