Assuming he's healthy, St. Louis may be forced to deal Gunnarsson before the deadline. Dunn's emergence has made him expendable, though he's still an effective shot blocker. If the Blues were competing well this year, I'm sure they would keep him as quality depth, but at this point he's a luxury they can't afford.

They would probably be more inclined to trade Bouwmeester, but (a) he has a NTC, and (b) his recent play wouldn't get much interest anyway. But, as a bottom pair guy, a little retained salary might entice someone.

It does seem like the Stars are a bit RHD heavy, depth-wise in particular. Which is kinda unusual...but swapping one of their collection of bottom-pairing RHD like Johns/Carrick/Honka for a comparable LHD shouldn't be that tough a deal to find out there somewhere. Though for some reason, i'm having an oddly difficult time thinking of anyone in particular with the opposite problem, and a bit of an overabundance of bottom-pairing LHD.

Both young guys, with high upside and a few holes to work on. Kylington has looked pretty good in his call up and probably should be in the NHL but he’s buried behind Gio, Hanifin and Valimaki. Hopefully after next year Honka can replace one of Brodie or Hamonic on the right side for us.
