With the game putting more and more emphasis on speed, the Knights no exception, I think in order to utilize his size properly he needs to get at least fast enough to cut off time and space.
Exactly so.

He's 6'6 at 18 years old. I wouldn't worry TOO much about his skating. Even if he can get it to above average, that's perfectly fine given how ridiculously tall he is for D. He's 1 inch shorter than Chara, who made a career out of being able to use his stick to stop zone entries.
Could he be a better Cody Franson? Tall, average skater with strong offensive skills???
Chara is 6 foot 9, but otherweise your post has merit.
How is Franson even a comparable?
Is Hedman a better comparable? Not saying he would be as good just style wise. How is Franson even a comparable?
Idk if I’d put him on that level but it’s a better comparison than franson. I’d say left handed Parayko w/ a little less speed but can actually hit the netIs Hedman a better comparable? Not saying he would be as good just style wise.
Hague is an absolute nightmare in his own zone in the OHL. There's no way he's in the NHL next year. He's not even good enough defensively in the O right now (hence why he wasn't even invited to Team Canada tryout camp)
I love his mean streak.
The fact that he has one at all bodes well for his future. It’s something I strongly believe you either have it, or you don’t..it can’t be developed.
From everything I’ve read, it doesn’t sound like his defense is lacking at all unlike what was said above. So he has size, skating, offensive acumen, a killer shot, adequate defensive abilities, and a mean streak.
Cut down on the minor penalties, improve the break out pass, and this guy could be a future top pairing defenseman.
Not to get ahead of myself, but Vegas’s blueline and team for that matter is somewhat soft. He would fit in well there clearing the crease, banging bodies, and bringing a solid two way game.
Top 20 in a one year redraft anybody?
I didn't realize this; Hague is 1st in goals (33) and points (73) for Missisauga Steelheads.
1. Nicolas Hague 33g+40a=73pts
2. Owen Tippett 33g+36a=69pts
3. Ryan McLeod 21g+42a=63pts
4. Albert Michnac 21g+37a=58pts
5. Trent Fox 23g+27a=50pts
Thats pretty impressive... 2 highly drafted first round forwards on that list that hes ahead of
