Not NHL prospect in my opinion. Kasik could have nice career in Czech Extraleague though and Polivka has potencial to play in Extraleague too.

Any other name would be very surprising.

Looks like there could be quite a few guys going in this years draft. Are things looking up for the Czech Republic development-wise or is this just a blip on the radar?

I think it's just this. Regular basis improvments are coming, but it will take some more time than this. I think we can definitely expect at least a couple of weak years to come.

Fair enough. I think more attention will be brought to the Czech players this year after their incredible WJC. I wouldn't be surprised to see 15+ drafted this year, but we'll see.

The Czechs won't get close to 15+ this year. The only European nation that will get 15+ is Sweden. Will be interesting to see how many domestic Czechs are drafted.

I'd also hardly call there World Juniors incredible. They didn't get to the medal round and relied heavily upon Mrazek. It speaks volumes about where the Czech development currently is if we are discussing that performance to be "incredible", especially considering ten years ago they were U-20 champions.

Gotta give some credit to Czechexpert, who whilst can be pretty blunt and rarely goes into extensive detail, does seem to identify the situation and the good players very well. He seems to predict who the good players are before its common knowledge (I remember he liked Bartschi before he went to the CHL), the same with Faksa this year.

Aren't the 95's supposed to be really weak? I think i remember reading several times that it is considered the real bottom of the curve.

Maybe because I watch quite a lot of games, I evaluate players more realistically than majority of people on board. And always say things as I feel it using harsh words at times.
Regarding 95´s, it looks a bit better than 12 months ago but there isn´t prospect like Faksa. Still there are some decent prospects and Jan Kostalek is possible first round pick.

I'd think they'll at least be around 10.

Likely: Faksa, Frk, Hertl, Beran, Plutnar, Hyka, Pavelka, Volek.

Possibility: Machac, Sidlik, Bartosak, Machovsky, Krejci, Hrbas.

I don't know who will be drafted from the Czech league, other than Hertl. I think Krejci has a chance because of a good WJC and that there will likely be at least one or two other guys from there that will go. Maybe that goalie?

Outside of Hertl, Langhamer, Knot, Nejezchleb and Nosek have the best chance to be drafted.
I would be very surprised if Sidlik and Hrbas are selected in June, I don´t think they are both good enough.

I am a PEI Rocket fan and I have had the pleasure to watch both martej beran and Tomas Pavelka and they are both a treat to watch Beran has been the biggest suprise he is a ppg player goes to the net hard and has become one of the best power forwards in the Q.
As For Pavelka he is a steady Dman he is a solid number 3 dman this year but next season I expect he will be a number 2 dman. Has a strong shot and great speed the Rocket are a bottom feeder team this year but I expect will suprise next year and these 2 will be a big part of why they do. I think both will be drafted no doubt

The Toronto Sun had a little blurb about the top NCAA free agent this year being 6'8 Czech defenseman Andrej Sustr. The article said he'll likely stay in college for another year, but that NHL teams will definitely try to lure him out.
