CC is a D1 program. They play in the NCHC against Denver, Miami (OH), Minnesota Duluth, Nebraska Omaha, North Dakota, St. Cloud State, and Western Michigan. Most of those teams recruit well so CC is playing a tough schedule every year,Explains why he's not on the roster.

Haven't produced a whole lot in terms of NHL talent but Jaden Schwartz, Jacob Slavin, and Curtis McElhinney all played there.
Whoops!!.... the school itself is listed as an NCAA DIII school on Wikipedia. Shouldn't have presumed all the programs were that level.
