Gotta say I didn't expect Nunavut to be that bad. I guess them not getting as much sun doesn't help.

There's that, but there's also (and, well, mostly) the issue of sample sizes, because there isn't even 40 000 people living there. Just needs two outbreaks in two different remote communities and, boom, you have 100 new cases a day per 100K pop.

They had a total of 535 cases and 4 deaths since the beginning. Currently 85 active cases.

Nunavut's population is 39,285.
1361.8 cases per 100k.
10.2 deaths per 100k.

More than half of their cases (339) are in Arviat which has a population of 2,657, meaning 12.76% of the village got infected.

It's not that different from certain communities in Beauce, if anything. But yeah, the numbers are crazy because of a few communities. There are most certainly lots of areas that are completely covid-free.

Currently, only Iqualuit and Kinngait have active cases (85) and Kinngait only has 2.

Makes sense. MTL is between 35 to 40% vaxxed I believe.

The vaccination gap is almost completely gone now.

The most* vaxxed region is Saguenay-LSJ at 40% and the least is Abitibi at 33%. Montreal is sitting at 38.5% (5th). Laval used to be the 2nd most vaccinated place in Quebec is now sitting 4th from last (34%)

*: Nord-du-Quebec (72%), Baie-James (59%), Gaspesie (50%), Nunavik (49%) and Cote-Nord (48%) are following a different vaccination plan than the rest of the province.
