Really feel for Logan. Hope he has a successful and speedy recovery. That guy has been a true warrior and leader for a while. I always really appreciate his honesty and candor. Such a big blow with the team playing better of late.

I hope BB opts for a top 6 of:
9-48-28
12-19-62

Piece together a bottom 6 of: 23, 46, 11, 40, 68, and 20.

X-rays negative, but he’s got a fractured ankle. That means it’s a tiny break that couldn’t be spotted without an MRI.
Maybe. Or it could be that they were looking at the knee right after the game and didn't look at the ankle until after Boughner talked to the press. Either way, here's hoping for a speedy recovery

Hopefully it doesn't affect his game moving forward.
I hope Boughner starts using this injury as time to experiment with more farm guys.

I know Thornton's been playing well, but that's not a great second line :help:

Jesus Christ I hope you're wrong... Unless the plan is to play that 1st line 30 min a game...? That 2nd line will get destroyed against top 6 competition. Meier still isn't there yet so he and Kane should stay together and have Hertl carry his line. Goody has been acceptable in between Meier and Kane so I would leave that out of necessity. Leave Jumbo on the 3rd line so it's at least somewhat competent.

Maybe...

At this point I'm tempted to start calling up the kids and throwing them in the fire. See who sinks and swims so they can really assess the organizational depth. Gives them. better idea of what to look for at the TDL, Draft and this off season.

I was assuming they x-rayed his knee and ankle and basically anything they thought was hurt. As you said though, speedy recovery is all we want.

So the Sharks will now send Karlsson to the ASG just to piss off Facebook Sharks fans. Nice.

I think that's too much change for the situation.

I think you have to go with pairs and fill in.

Meier + Kane - - Goodrow has been OK there
Hertl + Marleau - - suomela maybe?
Thornton + labanc - - Sorensen I guess

From the eye test, especially offensively, labanc is so much more effective with Jumbo than without. Those two together are a good 3rd line pair for now

suomela maybe?

I would love to see Suomela between Kane and Meier. Now when those big bodies are aggressive as they should, hunting the puck behind the goal line, Suomela real gift at offensive zone would be match made in heaven with them.
Antti regonizes well the possible turnover whitout gambling big with his position. Plus he is good sliding stealth to slot and finding his space. He did that a lot in his final year at Liiga even though he was the most marked player on the ice. And overall faster line with skill is good fit with Suomela, as it was with Kane and Donskoi.

I believe Goodrow keeps his position for startes, but maybe if there is problem with scoring, Antti could get his chance.

Silver lining to this Couture news: last time he had a major injury he had 30 playoff points en route to the cup final.

While playoffs are unlikely, it's still possible.
