Icethetics.co's 2014-15 NHL Jersey Watch:
Tampa Bay Lightning

Reebok Says
The Bolts' third jersey is marked TBD.

Media Reports
None yet.

The Upshot
The only surprising thing about this change is that it hasn't been previously reported. The Lightning introduced new blue and white uniforms in 2011. They kept their blue "BOLTS" third even though it never made much sense as part of the new set.

Rumor has it the team will reintroduce a black jersey into their repertoire with a new alternate jersey. This is welcome news to fans who criticized the rebrand's lack of black. (The Lightning responded to that criticism by adding black trim to the sweater numbers and lightning bolts on the pants.)

For this new sweater, will Tampa Bay resurrect the white shoulders they wore while hoisting the Stanley Cup in 2004? Or will they go in an entirely different creative direction?

I hope that they keep silver as a part of the colour scheme for this jersey. Silver was the one colour I felt we should have kept in our identity when we made the uniform change.

Got my renewal notice.....

Got kicked in the teeth with no warning last year for a 300% increase. Not so bad this year, only a 30% increase. Now if my business and salary could keep up, I could keep the tickets. Looks like 2013-14 is my last year as a STH. Just can't afford it at the new prices. Too bad because this is probably the best the team has been and the remodel of the building makes it a great experience. My tickets went from ~$300 for 2012-2013 to ~$1300 for 2014-2015.

Mine went up 20% so probably switch to 1/2 season, or may be back to my cheaper seats.

And I only see a invoice for all the playoff money up front. Does not seem to be an option to pay after every round. I only see them playing 2 to 5 home games, not the 16 they want the $ for.

Need to change my user name to BoltHSTH.

They've just priced themselves out of my range. I will look at changing seats, or a half season, or not all. I'm not finding the draw to the NHL as I did 10 years ago. Officiating, realignment, etc is diminshing the excitement of going to games.

Too bad because Vinik seems to be a topnotch owner.

It gets more confusing. My renewal email and link has a price nearly $300 more than what they sent me in the mail. Weird and not professional.

When I consider going to downtown, I always think "but it's cramped and difficult to get to". Whatever they build, just make sure it has good highway ramps, good signs leading to and from, and enough parking spaces. When people get there or leave, they should say to themselves "Well, that was easy". So they don't mind doing it again.

The Vinik interview

I'm surprised I don't see a thread about this yet. Interesting interview with Lightning owner Jeff Vinik.

http://www.tampabay.com/sports/hockey/lightning/with-lightning-stable-vinik-eyes-the-future/2166300

He went to personally meet with Marty St. Louis to try to smooth over the Yzerman/Team Canada/St. Louis being left off situation.

He also made a very telling comment when asked if he would be fine with Yzerman being the Exec. of Team Canada in 2018...he said they would "talk about it".

And he gives Yzerman is full support, he wants Yzerman to be in TB for 20 years.... says he's doing an A+ job and is building the Lightning into the best organization in the NHL although it takes time.

Also discusses that he's losing money although he won't say how much. Basically implies that as long as he breaks even the team will stay in Tampa.

I read this in the other thread. Pretty good stuff

Very excited to see what he'll do with downtown. And it sounds like he's not totally out of the running for Channelside yet either. What a mess that thing is, definitely needs some Vinik.

The Tampa Bay Lightning will hold a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the franchise's 2004 Stanley Cup Championship on Monday, March 17 when they take on the Vancouver Canucks at 7:30 p.m. at the Tampa Bay Times Forum. Chase is the proud presenter of the 10th Anniversary platform and will provide all fans in attendance with a replica of the actual Stanley Cup ring that was distributed to the players following the championship.
That's sweet!
The night will feature appearances by a number of alumni from the 2004 team as well as the trophy they captured, the Stanley Cup. Alumni expected to attend are captain Dave Andreychuk, Ben Clymer, Jassen Cullimore, Chris Dingman, Pavel Kubina, Brad Lukowich, Fredrik Modin, Stan Neckar, Nolan Pratt, Andre Roy, Tim Taylor and Cory Stillman. Fellow alum Martin St. Louis will be skating for the Lightning that night. The staff will be represented as well, as Vancouver is coached by then-Lightning bench boss, John Tortorella. Also participating will be former team president Ron Campbell, general manager Jay Feaster, associate coach Craig Ramsay and assistant athletic trainer Adam Rambo. Current staff members, video coach Nigel Kirwan, head medial trainer Tom Mulligan, head equipment manager Ray Thill and others, will also be recognized.
No Vinny, Richie, or Khabibulin. Obviously their own schedules make it difficult, but these were some of the main pieces of that team.
The alumni will be available prior to the game outside the Times Forum for autographs and pictures, while the Stanley Cup will also be on display for photos. Fans will be given a commemorative poster, presented by Chase. All alumni will also be part of a pre-game ceremony on the ice.
The night will feature a number of other elements from 2004. In-game features such as music and trivia will also revolve around the Lightning's 2004 Cup Championship, while the Lightning Girls will model one of the commemorative shirts for sale during the game. The shirts will be just one of many retail options available, that also include other apparel and pucks. In addition, the third period of Game 7 of the 2004 Stanley Cup Final will be shown on LightningVision following the game.
