Listening to the podcast right now. I am so excited it's finally Moser's gig now. The way he sees, feels and talks the game is special. I don't think waiting for the season to begin ever has been as hard for me as it is this year.

TMV's take on the Calvert signing

giphy.gif

I'm really not a fan of people bringing up the number of goals scored as an argument against the contract when talking about players who clearly get paid because they excel in a specific role (like Tom Wilson when he signed his contract...or in this case Matt Calvert).

We can only hope.
What is wrong with her being around? She is enthusiastic about her job, and no doubt connects better with the younger players than some former fringe NHLer would. Which leads to more entertaining segments than hearing players talk about getting pucks deep.

I get enough info and unsolicited opinion reading HF every day. I don’t need some hack on altitude preaching his thoughts as well. Give me the outside the box thinker who has fun at her job.

So Barberio was a good a signing because he had good possession numbers, and Calvert was a bad signing because he had bad possession numbers?

Curious to see how the two are viewed at the end of next season.

FYI, Blake Comeau had 27 goals in the previous three seasons before joining the Avs. 32 in the previous four seasons. So if we're just going off numbers, Calvert is an upgrade.
